Is playing sattelites a bad use of bankroll to a newer player? For instance Im mainly playing 1-2$ buy ins because my bank roll isnt that big yet. Because even if I do good and finish in the money I just have to do it again the next time to get any profit. Is that too much reliance on skill for a new player? Something like buying in for 1-2$ to win a 7-10$ ticket to a MTT.
Is there any particularly good videos for new players not familiar with PokerTracker 4 ? I dont exactly know how to use it/get the most out of it. Mostly been useful as a HUD so far for me.
Is there a VP/PFR that I should be in the ballpark of to be a solid player (for noobs)? I think I am playing too many pots/hands currently especially since I am a newer player. I accidently reset my pt4 but over the last 360 hands Im at 41/28. Thats got to be way too high for my skill level right ?
Most people stick to cash game or tourney play. From what ive seen the difficulty of tourneys are a little easier than cash games, but the variance is worse.
There's all kinds of useful videos and info here on 2+2. Also you should sign yourself up for like upswing deuces cracked for learn more in depth poker. There's also tutorials and HUDs that you can download for PT4 rather than using the default ones.
As for VPIP/PFR, it really depends at what stakes your playing. At lower stakes, I'm able to play a little over a 30/22 profitably due to a little more experience. That's at 6max. Solid players at 6max are usually right around a 23/18 or so give or take a few points.
as for a 41/28 that's way too high. First thing you're going to want to do is look up pre-flop charts, and follow those. Most of those are usually by position, and there's usually one for opening, and another chart for calling or 3betting.
