If you uninstall before you get back and everything works as it should (and it will) they will have no reason to browse the registry and find out software was install/uninstall ed. Noone does that anyway. If you are at the point where there are registry issues its quicker to just reinstall the OS. Also, IMO, surfing the web on the lappy is fine too - for reading 2+2 for instance. Just stay away from the platypus porn.

Are you going away on business or in your own time? If the first, then they should expect you to set yourself up for your downtime too. If the second, then if they expect you to take your work laptop then the same thing imo.

You could make a system image disk before you download all your poker software and just restore your computer back to that when your done with the poker on it.

If you make any new files you need to keep in the mean time you can just save those to another blank disk and then just import them after youve restored the old system image pre-poker.


Either that or download ccleaner and use that programe to clean up the regestry it's free and very good.

goth, yep its business and I'll have free time when I'm done for the day so I don't think it will be a problem as I'll be burning my own data connection in my own spare time and won't be doing anything illlegal. Im really just curious to see if there are any real gotchya's when it comes me wanting to install and uninstall stuff and leaving a trace that could hypothetically cause some IS guy on a bad day to pick on me . I suppose I could ask my boss if I am allowed to install games I bought and paid on the machine for personal use to play in my spare time and see what he says....actuallly my boss is very approachable and someone who I could ask that.

If an IS guy was going to pick on you, he'd have to know that you'd done something and where to look for it. I dont think most would go beyond a cursory glance and certainly not through the registry. I have watched a few episodes due my kids commandeering the tv.....I can't help but think the writers smoke the whacky tobaccy. I just don't see how someone with a non-warped mind comes up with some of the random **** they do. Two episodes that come to mind are the 'why wolves' episode and one with pink rainbow ponies. wtf?
