Hi,

Is EV diff in Holdem Manager correct? Or I don't understand how it works? Or I don't understand poker?

Here is a hand

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.05(BB) Replayer
SB ($6.97)
BB ($8.29)
UTG ($4.83)
UTG+1 ($6.18)
UTG+2 ($21.89)
MP1 ($2.38)
MP2 ($0.90)
CO ($3.90)
Hero ($4.58)

Dealt to Hero J 3

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.15, SB raises to $0.35, fold, Hero raises to $0.55, SB calls $0.20

FLOP ($1.15) K 2 3

SB checks, Hero bets $1, SB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $4.03 (AI), SB calls $1.53

TURN ($9.21) K 2 3 5

RIVER ($9.21) K 2 3 5 A

Hero shows J 3
(Pre 30%, Flop 19.3%, Turn 11.4%)

SB shows T T
(Pre 70%, Flop 80.7%, Turn 88.6%)

SB wins $8.60

In this hand I have 31% on preflop, and 19% on flop.
Actualy I lost -4.58 , but EV diff = +1.66

The final pot (after rake) was $8.60

When the money went in, your equity (or 'fair share') was 19.3%

$8.60 x 19.3% = $1.66

You actually received $0

Your 'EV diff' (ie. the difference between your expectation and your actual)
= $1.66 - $0

= $1.66

Yeah DD explained the EV difference.

But ..... what were you doing in that hand ?

Fold it straight off most times.

If the blinds are nits, then J3s is OK for a steal from the BTN , but when you get 3bet just muck it.

AI when you hit a 3, in the face of a c/r, is insane. What did you think villain could possibly have that you were ahead of, other than a stone cold bluff ?

Thanks, DiamondDog =)

P.S. Villian was something about 50/33 and 6 agg factor. He could have any two, I think.
