Do you go through your opponent's whole range every hand or is most of it feel? I ask this because I watch a lot of DC videos and I'm not sure if I'm actively applying it. I understand what they're teaching completely but I'm not sure what they teach goes through my head when I get into spots.

So do you only go into focus when you're facing rough situations or are you always focused? How much should I be paying attention if I'm 2-tabling...or say 4-tabling?

I'm sorry if my question is sort of vague, I can't quite get the grasp on the words. Thanks.

I would guess that if you don't know why you can allow yourself not to focus then you shouldn't do it.

You should be paying 100% attention 100% of the time - if you can't then you are probably playing too many tables or for too long at a stretch. Obviously this is best until you have a very firm grasp of the fundamentals and can afford to be a bit more robotic for some minor decisions.

As a low- or micro-stakes SNG and Cash player, I know that I'm not good enough to leave my decisions to auto-pilot. When I'm playing, especially if it's an SNG, the TV is off, the browser is closed, and I'm focusing on the table. And I mean *table* - one table at a time. My ROI plummets as soon as I add another - on 5.50 SNGs it drops from 30ish to near breakeven.

I read someone's words of wisdom on here recently that talked about how they focus and review every single hand at the table they play at. You pay attention to every hand, in it or not. If it doesn't go to showdown, you take note of how aggressive/passive/tight/loose each participant played. If it does go to showdown, check the history and review how each player played each street - why did they raise preflop, why did they call the c-bet, why did they shove on the river.

It's improved my play immensely and I plan to continue doing this until it is second nature - only then will I be ready to add tables.

There are a few "automatic" decisions, such as raising AA UTG preflop, or folding 83o, but I still think about most decisions. I play 3 or 4 tables.

Like others have stated you need to focus 100% on what you're doing. The thing is, different people can handle different amounts of activity before their focus starts to suffer.

When I'm trying to work on my game I will often single table until I feel like I'm accomplishing what I set out to do. When I've gotten a fair amount of practice then I can slowly start to open more tables and play more hands with the same amount of focus required. Even then though any more than 4 tables completely overwhelms me, even if I'm playing my "A" game.

Just gotta figure out where that level is for you and make sure not to exceed it.
