Do you give any respect to vip status as a read? Do you give any respect to vip status as a read?

I think there's a lot of "passive" info available on players at the table that can be used; such as vip status, obviously how tables they have open, possibly what is he playing on those tables (mtt while playing cash, mixed limits, games, etc.). My question is this, how do you use this this information and how much respect (for lack of a better word) should it be given?

Ignore it imo . They get the same VIP level if they spew chips .

I would give much more respect to the tables/games someone is playing than their VIP status.

It depends on the stakes/games, but, in general if someone is playing a ton of tables and has a high VIP status, I think they're probably fairly competent (especially preflop), but a bit nitty and perhaps a bit straight forward. So, think a decent grinder, but a bit robotic and not necessarily very creative.

If they have a low VIP status and are playing a variety of games (especially on the weekend), they are probably more likely to be a recreational player. Might be ultimately easier to exploit, but could also be less predictable...

Yes I do, I think its safe to assume that a higher vip status, and plenty of tables open can justify them being a successful player, not always but quite often.

bronze stars at 50nl and higher are pretty much 100% fish.

I will use it as a read. supernovas have a distinct style of play which can be exploited. I often asume bronze will be fishy and I have a funny fealing a lot of silver and gold can be spewy with bad bluffs. I only really use the vip status as a read if its thier first few hands at my table. I let pokertracker take over.

Well SN's in the micro's are almost exclusively mass multitablers and so tend to play much more straightforward poker, but otherwise not really.
