Didn't know about rakeback... Didn't know about rakeback...

So I made my FTP and PS accounts way before I had any idea what I was doing, and I didn't sign up for rakeback or anything...should I just live with it, or should I make a new account on a different network and set all that stuff up, and if so, which network?

You can't get RB on Stars.

FTP is probably literally the tightest of all the online rooms so it's far from the end of the world if you decide to play somewhere else with RB.

I'd stay away from Absolute and Ultimate Bet.

Well that's good to hear, thanks. What network would you recommend (I can afford a full reload) for the best combination of games, bonus and rakeback?

If your outside the US i think you have many many options, but if your a US player, Cake isn't a terrible choice. 33% rakeback, 100% signup bonus, and relatively soft games. The software isn't great, its difficult to multi table, and there aren't many limit games. Also, cake dosen't support pokertracker or any similar software and HUDs are banned, which is a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

I was in the same position as you with the whole FT rakeback situation, but i am much happier playing on cake than i was on FT.

Cool, I'll check out cake. I'm fairly techno illiterate so I don't use PT or HUDs anyway...which leads to another question. How serious of a disadvantage am I at by not using those softwares?

At the microlimits on stars (which is what i generally play) your probably not at a huge disadvantage because there are so many poor players (and I would suspect that the majority of players don't have any tracking software). However, having tracking software and a HUD gives you a good advantage because you can easily seperate the terrible players from the somewhat competent ones.

If you want to fiddle around with poker tracker there is a free beta for PT3 going on right now and a HUD was just released for it.

Cake has some of the softest games around. Coupled with rakeback and 100% sign up bonus and a decent rewards program it is probably the (Behind PS and FTP) 3rd best site available to US players. Although Cake is going through some problems with being able to deposit and withdraw at the moment most of these problems should be worked out in due time.
