Open Side Menu Go to the Top

Over the past several weeks I have been analyzing my play, mainly from a pre-flop perspective. After taking advice found in this forum and limiting my spews it has helped my game go from solid loser to break even. I still have plenty of leaks but I stopped major ones.

To the main point; what is the best way to improve your game post flop? Is there certain games to play, FR, 6-max, HU, STT, or MTT.

I have been dabbling in HU the past couple of days to help with this and I can see where it may help. If anything from seeing more hands faster and having only on person to focus on versus multiple seems to be good for my overall game.

Thoughts?

I think deep stack cash NL is the best way to learn postflop play because it teaches you how to control the pot size and play on multiple streets. Once the blinds get high in tournaments, play becomes more geared toward the earlier streets. HU gives you more decisions of course, but a lot of HU is adjusting to your opponents and gameflow, so what you learn in one particular situation may not be as generally applicable. Obviously you can learn about different aspects of post-flop play in each of those types of games.

Just pay attention and try to figure out why your opponent played the hand the way he did. One hand can provide you with a lot of information.
