Counting in BB's or amounts?

Do you think it is a good idea to think in terms of big blinds instead of amounts during a hand?
For example
Blinds 200/400
Stack 12000 or 30BB’s
MP2 raises 1200 or 3BB’s, BU calls 1200 or 3BB’s
Pot 3000 or 8BB’s (7.5 but for ease of use 8)
MP2 bets 2000 or 5BB’s
Etc
I believe thinking in BB’s it would be a good habit to get into?

Preflop yes, postflop no. Postflop you can't evaluate a decision based on the number of BB that are bet.
Take this scenario. On the flop you have a gutshot. Your opponent bets 5BB. Are you getting the correct odds to call?
You can't answer that question unless you know how much is in the pot. In the same way that you can't answer it just based on the size of the bet. Your opponent bet $10, should you call? If the pot is $10,000 it is an easy call, if the pot is $1 it is an easy fold.
So percentage of the pot is a much better way to decide on your own bets, and to evaluate calling an opponent's bets. If you convert the pot to BBs, then convert the bet into BBs, you can accomplish the same thing - but you are simply adding steps that are unnecessary.
