Collusion??? Collusion???

What is the difference between collusion and implied collusion?
I have suspected collusion many times, but have never reported it because I
don't think pokerstars would take it serious at the micro levels.

I'm sure pokerstars takes collusion seriously at absolutely every level.

This forum isn't the place to report it, if you are serious then you will want to get in touch with pokerstars who will no doubt have contact information on their website.

What made you think you saw collusion ? I have never suspected it online. Only once in a live game.

Implicit collusion is merely a term to indicate that your equity lowers in a multiway pot.

There is however also legal collusion in poker. It is legal as long as it is not communicated. This happens all the time in tournaments. When 1 is allin, other players in the hand just check down till the river to maximise the chance he will bust out. They may even choose to merely call his (small) allin rather than raise it (with a hand that would otherise merit raising) to invite more people in the hand.

Microstakes cash collusion is laughably easy to spot and quite entertaining to watch, for a few hands, before you summon the mod.

Only seen it once on Stars in 4 years and I reported it fully. Stars takes cheating absolutely seriously irrespective of stakes, and they sent me two emails. The first one thanking me for my detailed report, the second confirming the collusion and that the two jokers had been life banned.

it's rare and to anyone with an ounce of skill lol easy to spot. Higher stakes, bigger money IDK, but frankly I admire the way the major sites go about their business, where security is concerned.

Implicit collusion is perfectly within the laws and ethics as Arjen relates.

Hehe yes, like that once i saw it in a live game. The whole table saw it. We (the regs) just looked at the dealer indicating it was ok and he shouldnt do anything about it. Everyone had some difficulties supressing the laughter indeed while the 2 colluders kept going at their colluding in all seriousness until an hour later they left broke.

Funny that the dealer let us influence his decision there, i guess that could be considered some kind of illegal collusion as well . It was a casino i visited dayly, not just some homegame.

I'm curious as to what the signals were that everyone on the table saw it at once and yet the colluders wetr dumb enough to think it worked

Pretty much everything short of telling eachother in words what their hands are looking expectantly at eachother, poking eachother under the table. You name it.

Collusion: An explicit (ie; verbal or chat) agreement between two to players act in concert.

Implied Collusion: Two players acting for mutual benefit despite no agreement to do so (similar in some respects to a prisoner's dilemma).

Most often by checking it down when a short-stack is all-in. Can also be seen in jackpot/bad beat type hands where showdown is required. (In most cases with jackpot hands, anything spoken about the situation will nullify the jackpot as it becomes collusion).

Note: Acting contrary to implied collusion norms can be a highly strategic move.

I am 80% sure that these two guys are cheating. You see stupid plays all the time from random rec players, but these two play thousands of sngs s year.
I have seen many a time signs of chip dumping and soft playing.

Implied collusion- I do this all the time,I didn't know it was called that. Is this frowned on? I read the prison dilemma

TY for all your comments

btw one of these two suspected cheats is a member on here, its a small world

What have you ACTUALLY seen? Post some hand histories to give examples of what you believe to be collusion. Use the converter to anonymise the hand histories - do not post screen names at this stage.
