Trying to play for real money online through Full Tilt or Party Poker.

Full Tilt, says I can buy real money, but when in the downloaded program, all I can do is buy play money. Ok, WTF, I can use real money to turn it into play money? What kind of joke is this? It almost more like an in-app purchase where you pay real money for fake in game currency that is useless outside the game.

What is the point of buying play money if you can't use this play money to pay off any debt or buy something?

I'm in CA, is there some law that doesn't allow me to buy real money? I thought it be super easy to just enter a credit card & get some real money play. I won like 6000 in fake money w/ a 1000 buy in. I rather play at a real casino where I can see people face to face. How do you put things in perspective when playing for real money online?


Party Poker states that it can't allow US people to play for real money. And only for play money.

I did play for fake money on Full Tilt though, people seem to actually sorta play seriously. At least more seriously than the Xbox 360 WSOP game where 5 people would go all in as a joke.

Try WPT.com I assume this is working in CA but never tried. This is a club, so somehow it gets around the online rules. GL

I played WPT for a month or so until I realized that it wasn't my only option. You can play for play money there too or you can pay a monthly fee to play in as many tournaments as you like to win Tournament Points (TP) that you then use to play in tournaments that pay out in cash, prizes and entries into the big WPT live events. The problem is you spend most of your time playing in tournaments to win TPs and except for a few times a month, playing for a $20 top prize with several hundred people. The big tournaments for $1000 in cash or a WPT paid trip/entry, you will have to beat out a couple of thousand people.

The software is full of bugs and also doesn't allow normal multitabling. You can play 3 tables at once but can only see one table at a time with sometimes 5-8 seconds of lag switching between tables. The WPT format is a good idea in general but its so full flaws its not worth it.
