BTW the reason that a $2 buy-in is different at a 1c/2c game compared to a 2c/5c game is you will have 100 big blinds stack at one, and only a 40 big blind stack at the other.
You have less control at the 2c/5c table and will likely see more variance since you will be put all in more easily.
Lots of beginners think they are too good for 1c/2c or whatever limits, which is sometimes true, so they jump up to a level where they feel they can make more money. Then when they bust their roll they complain about anything BUT bad bankroll management.
