If I'm playing on .01/02 table and the max buy in is $5, should I buy-in the full amount or minimal amt of $2?

Thanks

Always but at the maximum it's that easy. That way when you get a huge hand and go all-in a big stack you gain maximum money.

Thank you so much and makes sense and I can validate because it has always happened to me when I buy in for full amt and I win a big amount, it looks great.

Again, thank you.

Buy in for $2 when you're starting out. It's just going to hurt more if you buy in for $5.

After you've proven that you're a winning player over like 10k hands, or whenever you feel comfortable, then buy in for $5.

In general you want to buy for the maximum, but since you're new you're likely going to lose and if you buy in for less it won't hurt as bad when you do.

BB = big blind. At .01/.02 big blind is .02, so 100x2 cents = $2.

Well I'm not winning 10k hands since I play safe hands (10 ten or top 20 hands). So I should stick to $2 buy in?

I meant be a winning player over 10k hands or so. That is to say, just play that many hands - whether you fold preflop or not doesn't make a difference. And that's probably an overestimate... Whenever you feel comfortable you can buy in for the max. But for now you should definitely be buying in for $2.

I'll start with the $2 and work my way up because losing $2 doesn't "hurt" as bad at losing "4 or 5" bux.

This is super-tight play -- I'd recommed small buy-ins.
Also, learn to play poker and open up your range in the right spots.
