But I actually had a hand this time..... But I actually had a hand this time.....

Hi all, This is my first post so be nice!

I have recently started playing NL2 zoom. I have been playing quite aggressively, I don't have HUD but the stats show me winning around 25% of hands played (this is total hands dealt) without showdown. These were almost all preflop or with a fop c-bet. It seems to work quite well as in zoom many people just quick fold and move on and so play much tighter than they would otherwise.

My problem seems to come when I actually have a real hand (or at least semi decent). The below is an example of this and I was just looking for some input on when I should have folded or slowed down. Or if I should have, but I think folding was right.

You've overplayed what is a marginal hand. I think after you're 3bet I'd probably fold this, but I don't think calling is too dreadful. Raising is kinda horrible, anything that calls your raise should have you crushed.

Definitely fold after he raises your flop bet. You're representing a big pocket pair and he's happy to raise this - this would probably indicate he's got a strong pocket pair of his own (certainly stronger than yours).

Really the biggest mistake was 4betting pre IMO. You've bloated the pot with a marginal hand that's only going to be happy to get it in on a small minority of boards (those with a 9 on them).

99 is a horrible hand to 4bet, especially this deep.

under normal stack sizes, 99 already falls in the category of one of the worst 4bet hands, but you might consider it because flatting OOP isn't a very good option, and you can sometimes profitably call a shove.

deepstacked, not only are you getting set mining odds, 4betting is even worse because value hands aren't forced to shove over - calling the 4bet is presented as a valid option for villain. and what are you gonna do if he calls other than assume you're beat? in this spot I'm probably not even 4betting QQ let alone 99.

as played, you just have to assume you 4bet pre as a bluff. as much as u might hate it, ask yourself whether you would cbet a random air hand, and if not check fold the flop. if u do, definitely fold to the raise.

Didn't notice how deep stacks were. Yeah, I'm calling the 3bet in this case, we've got setmining odds alone. I would probably aim to call down given how the hand went unless villain bet particularly big.
