at 2NL he's not gonna give that up so matter what comes on the turn/river.
not betting on the river probably saved you .50
Yes this and if youre playing 2nl youre going to want to bet 50% and if youre playing higher youre going to get a check raise on the turn as well. Gl at the tables!
for some reason i'm a glutton for punishment. decided to play the 10c rebuy on ftp. got 13th for like 10$. kk < aa < jj's on my busto hand. like 1.50$ an hour. super beat. lolz.
think i'm gonna try and play more on stars and build a roll there this year. i always found the software awful. now i can seem to tolerate it and the games seem better to me.

Stars is gonna be my home for 2011. Staying the hell away from FTP, can't stand that site. I swear there is something about it that just screws with my head.
Final Pot: $0.83
Hero mucks J J
BB shows 5 A (three of a kind, Fives)
BB wins $0.79
(Rake: $0.04)
I have no real reads and don't currently use a HUD. In general, was this standard or is there some way I could have bettered my play so that this didnt happen?
It's just standard. Raise more PF. You already have a limper, so your 3bb gives odds to anyone to come along, particularly from the blinds. I would have made it 5bb+ here.
Bet more on the turn, you're going to be in front here most of the time, and as enprinte says you want to make someone playing 56o or Q9 or similar garbage pay for their draws.
Obviously check behind on this river.
A fish hit the flop hard with his garbage, fortunately he slowplayed it and didn't win anything like what he could have. So it was actually quite a good result
villian is check calling with alot of draws so you need to bet 2/3 to 3/4 pot to make it incorrect for them to call you, while knowing that they'll probably call anyway ... this makes you more $$$$ in the long run, and your opponents lose, b/c you forced them to make a ev- play on each street versus their likely range (lower pairs/ underpairs and flush and str8 draws)

only rush poker screws with my head. lol. i only play it during rush weeks tho. it's sad how much money i've lost playing rush. tho at least the bonuses + rakeback covered most of the hits. otherwise love ftp's promos.
just had a brutal session on stars. gz. was stuck until i was playing someone heads up and of course shove jj's into kk's when we were deepstacked and hit a set to finish breakeven.

Anyone know how much SN is worth this year for 100k VPP? You get Stellar bonuses that's just over $1k, then what else is there? The milestone bonus and just using the FPP's you've accumulated?
Gonna grind rush and really try to improve my play. Been playing a little under rolled at 10NL. I was planning to deposit, but I think I might just start the year at 5NL and work on adding another table or two for when I decide to move up.
I HAVE to do session review, sweats, and post HH. That is one big thing that I've never really done.
January goals: At least 30k hands at 5NL and 10NL rush. At least $100 profit including rakeback and bonuses.
GL everyone. Don't forget today on FTP is 3x happy hour all day.
My main goal as a poker player for this year is to play solid poker and win while at the same time thoroughly enjoying the games I play.
I plan to play NLHE and PLO cash games, and occasionally mix in a tourney or 2. I am going to stick to good brm and I am going to try not to go busto.
As far as studying the game goes, I will be joining DC or cardrunners and watching videos often. I will eventually join a study group here on 2+2 or elsewhere. Also I will continue to read almost every book about poker I can find.
this year I wont have time for a mass amount of volume tho, so wud probably be better of playing on full tilt cause i got rakeback there. but from a tournament perspective I think stars will be the site to play on.
Will play try and hopefully play around 20 hours a week, and put alot of study time in for the time I will be away from the felt.
Best of luck to everyone this year. Hopefully I can keep up with this thread this year.
First session of 2011 and I did it at PLO10 where i'm cursed. Started off down 2 buy-ins pretty quick. Then made a buy-in back, then dropped some more and eventually finished the session down $8. I'll just leave it with the sickest hand of the session (not in terms of running bad, but just my play).
I had a moment of genius/stupidity and decided to raise his weak river bet. Had to decide what sort of raise to do given stack sizes. I considered the min raise but that wasn't good enough so did a bit more. He tanked and I was a bit concerned about getting looked up but fortunately he found the fold button.

The thread last year, for example. I read through it all, and I reckoned I understood what was being said. After I spoke with him, and re-read it all, I realized that I hadn't understood, or had passed too quickly over, a large portion of it .... Re-reading it I found there was a lot more in it than I recalled.
I honestly think what he's doing is fantastic for anyone who wants to be a winning player at uNL, and he's basically giving this info away !
Preflop: Hero is SB with 2, 2 5 folds, CO bets $0.75, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2.50, 1 fold, CO calls $1.75
Flop: ($5.25) 2, 9, 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $4.24, CO raises to $11, Hero raises to $24.83 (All-In), CO calls $11.50 (All-In)
Turn: ($50.25) 6 (2 players, 2 all-in)
River: ($50.25) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)
Total pot: $50.25 | Rake: $2 Main pot: $50.25 between CO and Hero, won by CO
Results:
Hero had 2, 2 (full house, twos over sixes).
CO had 9, 9 (full house, nines over sixes).
Outcome: CO won $48.25
never has this happened to me where i 3bet with the bottom of my range & flop a set and the idiot set mines in a 3bet pot and flop a higher set womp womp... * cries in the corner*
