In 2010, I wrote about my trip through the micros in the uNL forum. Now that 2011 is here, I am planning to do something similar. The goal will be to start with $200 and turn it into $10,000 through winnings, rakeback, and bonuses.

This is something I've done a few times and continue to have success with. I have a few reasons for doing it, but I'll go into those later (my main one, and I would think that those know me and worked with me will attest to, is that I like helping and working with people). For now, I hope this thread will serve as a good guide for those who hope to never deposit again and move up from uNL to SSNL.

About Me: I'm a winning SSNL player (played 50% of my hands at 200NL and 40% at 100NL in 2010 - the rest were at the micros to get me to those higher limits). In 2010 I ended every month in the green and in general, had pretty steady results:



I'm also an instructor at CardRunners. Taylor and the good folks there are the main reason why I'm able to take the time and energy to make this thread and hopefully help you guys meet your goals.

The Plan: To begin with, I'm going to start the year with $200 in my poker account on Full Tilt:



I'll discuss my overall plan for managing that bankroll in a way which (hopefully) will allow me to just build on it without too much fear of going bust. So - good bankroll management + solid poker fundamentals + emotional management + lots of luck = robusto.

Finally, I plan to donate the $10,000 to charity when I'm done. Easy come, easy go, right?

I'll begin playing the 10NL FR Rush tables. With a limited bankroll and a goal to not redeposit, the key is to minimize the variance (while potentially sacrificing your winrate), and FR Rush gives me the best chance to do that.

About This Thread: I want to use this thread to highlight some of the hurdles that beginning players face as well as reasons that keep long time players break-even or losing. It will be a mixture of articles, HH discussions, videos, theory, and applications.

I'll also be more than happy to field any questions as they come up.

The lowest one we have is me playing 4 tables @ 25NL and discussing the action with MDoranD.
