^^ .. i hope i catch more fish on hu net ...schereboy if you would like to donate to the fund i wont mind
11-19-2010 , 02:09 AM
Be careful Exo, it can swong the other way just as fast :P
11-19-2010 , 02:17 AM
^^ ehh im on a rush, might just sit with one of the 1knl fish & stack them & double my roll in 10mins

jk, im running back to 10nl switching from my regular fr game to do some 6max.. i honestly should be switching to hu probably sng's due to my roll but 1 tabling poker is so boring though, only reason i cant stop playing full ring although im so breakeven all month grr
11-19-2010 , 02:20 AM
I have no idea how you can even play FR, its awful. You could multi table the HU SnG fwiw, if you get a couple of those going its more than enough action.
11-19-2010 , 02:32 AM
yea but when last week i played like 50-100 of them in like 2hrs or so, 5-6 tabling them like a ****** & was down $20-30 in the $5 games so yea i suck at multi tabling, 2 tables is the most i can handle & even then my winrate will go down, i think i need a new/bigger monitor to 4table hu sng's cause stacking/cascade dont work in terms of keeping up with the action, fr/6max the hud can track everything plus note taking so less reason for a bigger monitor sigh...

but seriously fr your making bluffs and hero calls which are right 1/10 times & 1 miss step you lose all profits, just such a lame game how tight the people are... my goal was honestly to be a 50-100nl fr rakeback pro starting january but im constantly losing $ at 50nl fr so ehh
11-19-2010 , 02:49 AM
yeah Im sure you were losing play 5-6 HU SnG at once, thats way to much to process, you can't approach HU as you would FR, you cant play HU on auto pilot... you are much better off playing a couple at a time and working on your game. Clearly people can make a living off it, Ie PrimordialAA.

If you really want to play HU cash, Dueces Cracked is free until Sunday I believe, and theres some good videos on there, I was watching some DogIsHeads stuff, and it was helpful. My ultimate goal is to play HU NL and PLO, I just dont have the BR, but I love the action, its amazing.
11-19-2010 , 03:02 AM
^^ yea love the thinking aspect & its more competitive where you have to fight for the pots, cant just sit around waiting for spots to come your way like a ring game.. you have the roll for hu sng's though, is there a big difference?

& ive watched two dc videos last night, full ring squadron, was pretty good, & it let me widen my range in certain spots, still lost everytime i got it in 60/40 in those spots but atleast my thinking improved cause spots where i get 3bet by 28/24 or whatever maniac stats i was folding or flatting a-10 etc when i should of put a 50bb all in knowing im ahead...

btw anybody ever tried playing full ring short stacked & shove fold at low stakes & break even?
11-19-2010 , 03:06 AM
I haven't been around here lately. I was losing quite badly this week and reno was hell.

My first hand, I had JcJh on a 549hhh board and got C/R'd by UTG which had AKhh to draw dead. After that, I had TT > AA on a 3c7c3s pot that I 3bet PF. We got it AI on the flop and of course T river. I also had a KQss on something like 7s9s5cJs and the guy rivers a boat on me AI on the turn.

After losing $750 or so, I took a $140 and took some pots down to end it -$4-500ish.

After that experience, I knew I played well for the majority of the pots, got my money in good except the JJ but I could not beat online anymore. I had been looking for a coach and had talked to a guy and paid him $200 for a few hours up front which left me with no bankroll, about $200 or so.

I figured, that's 8 BIs which is more than enough to rebuild after the coaching session. My game is back to what it used to be with a couple of improvements and a lot more running over people.

It's now the end of the 3 day since the coaching session and I am almost getting all my money in as a huge favorite since I am no longer playing back at people but people playing back at me and putting themselves in difficult spots.

Over 100 hands at this table, I had 20%+ 3bet and squeezes. Also the players here were at my other tables where I was around 27% 3bet range.

They saw me c-bet a lot so I kept getting C/R'd waiting to c/c em down.

I liked this 1. While I was 12 tabling, one of my tables broke down instantly except the fish and I so I was like, I don't know how to play HU but I have a fish, might as well. I won every pot against him since the start, I think this was like the 6th hand. After he called, he raged so hard for the next 5 mins and sat out.

21 games today, +$17. Had an overall horrible run of cards on the bubble. I was losing rather badly until I hit a couple firsts towards the end of the session. My decision making was a lot better today though.

Chalk me down for another losing session. Going broke very quickly, time to move up.
11-19-2010 , 09:46 AM
how about playing plo 8 masq. they seem fishy. the split pot system softens the variance blow.
11-19-2010 , 11:12 AM
I played some PLO10, I actually quite like as it suits my style. I did however run pretty bad in some spots and spewed off a ton of buy-ins. I'm down over $100 over the last 2 days and that's playing no higher than $5 buy-ins. It's ridiculous. I feel i'm destined to lose and destined to lose at PLO10. I'll probably take a few days off now except for playing the gold freeroll tomorrow.

65% equity and lose.

Just when I thought my downswing of last two months was over and I was back to my winning ways, the last session proved I was wrong. Dropped almost 4 buyins.

Maybe I just suck generally and I had never had any "winning game", but was only running hot. I am probably just a donk and a loser. Probably the guys who shove Q9o or 67s preflop over my AA and flop a straight are better players...
11-19-2010 , 12:11 PM
i hope you are properly rolled for plo 10.
as you said in the past at least have 50 buyins for a given limit.

if you are, you should definitely stick to plo 10 imo. i played both limits plo 10 and 5 on stars. well i have not a huge sample size. but the only difference i saw is the size of the bb.

@vuggie
you only dropped ~4 buyins. you shouldn't conclude that you are a bad player because of the result of a session. as you know in the short term you can even drop 10 buyins without making a single mistake.
always see the longterm in poker. basicaly grind on the mind...

btw i am not proud of it. but i only see one chance to reach silverstar this month. shortstacking nl 10. it suck. at least i set my system so that i can cascade up to ~20 tables. basicaly it is just a waste of time. but i need vpps ;_;

I was playing the 20-50bb games, so buy-in was $5. So technically I was rolled for it, but you really should have more as the variance can be sickening playing that short. I don't know though, i've dropped over 20 buy-ins in the last day and something's clearly wrong. I'll probably take a break for a few days aside from the freeroll tomorrow. I might end up playing FTP play chip 2-7TD and the other draw games for fun as I feel like playing but I think I should take a PLO break for a little bit.

Why are you bothering to get silver star?
11-19-2010 , 12:47 PM
you would earn x1.5 more points with silverstar, if i did understand it right .
so when i go for goldstar next month i get a little boost fpp wise---> more fpp = can play more fpp satelites ---> luckboxing the 1/4 million ---> witdrawing ---> atm ---> rub rub titteys

i don't see a single flaw in this plan

the multiplier goes from 1x to 1.5x
Doing it this month rather than next month will get you an extra half an FPP for every FPP next month you would otherwise have got as a bronze. aka six bucks at .016 (plus whatever your edge is in the FPP sattys minus the difference between your expectation in your main game and what you are playing to get there and minus what you could win playing something other than the FPP sattys)

ez

masq 20-50bb plo sounds a rake-hungry low-edge kind of a deal but I don't know how bad your opponents are

Having to listen to fullflush dispensing wisdom afterwards and having to look at his face really tilts me.
