+1; this was quite helpful. I can only play my A-game with 2 tables open (sometimes 3 or 4 if I'm feeling really focused that session), so I can't really drop tables . I forget that what feels like robotic exploitable play to me might not look like that to everyone else a lot. Finally swallowed my pride, dropped to 5NL for a quick session and won 2 BI in 300 hands.

I'm writing down a few massive leaks I believe I have so that I don't forget them :

-Calling too many postflop raises, and worrying about table image if I fold in a few uncomfortable spots in a row.

-Building huge pots with top pair hands/calling off shoves

-Caring about Iron Man/getting a minimum volume in, and dragging on sessions way too long.

-Playing Omaha/O8 without reading any formal strategy. Will be corrected by writing "I am an Omaha fish" on a chalkboard Bart Simpson Style nightly.

-Results oriented thinking; the classic trap of judging how well I play by how much I win or lose in a session.

is it any good? i heard that "Zen of Poker"(or something similar) should be good, too.

last 1k hands at 5nl, up $5.71, so woot me glad to be wiping some of the rust off

bankroll = $723.02... 2 more days at 5nl then 25nl
10-16-2010 , 01:31 AM
Br - $273. Had an ok day, put in like 25k hands this week at 5nl, so decided it was time for a break, so just arrived at the casino (1.5 hours each way blegh) and going to play a couple hours. Last time was awful, dropped $200, but the two previous times I made $95 and $277 so hope I have some run foot tonight will update when I get home!
10-16-2010 , 02:34 AM
I put in 1.3k in hands 4 tabling. I was running good at first than ran bad. BR at 30.33. I ran into some odd hands but after relaxing and value betting opp was able to win money back. Graph for today.

Are theses normal swings for 2nl? Seems like i lose to hands that i dont see my villian having like odd two pair hands or sets. Maybe i need to start laying down TPTK hands when running into a lot of pressure.
10-16-2010 , 03:29 AM
Had a terrible day at NL5 but somehow only dropped 1 BI in just under 1600 hands. My raises were being called by Q7 and T4 in the blinds who then flopped trips and I paid them off. I also saw 3 people flat AA pre instead of 3betting, twice against my raise (paid one guy off, turned a set of Ks against the other). Also had AJ vs AQ on a KAA flop. Just couldn't catch a break. Made 51 VPP at least which makes up for recent days off.

My comment about not being grindable was geared more towards VIP status. Its harder to multitable than NLHE and fewer tables run, so I'm pretty sure it would be harder to accumulate VPP.

Might try to mix some in more often and see how I do.

Thanks for the razz link bumblebee.

laber - try Tommy Angelo's vids on DC; Eightfold Path to Enlightenment, they're pretty good for thinking about avoiding tilt.
10-16-2010 , 04:08 AM
Got todays take 2 tick, and lost a stack. Hmmm, think i'm actually going to have to wait for the O8 tables to open up whilst doing this rather than continue sucking at NL.
10-16-2010 , 06:04 AM
FT BR back up to $25 which is what i started at before losing $10 playing PLO.

AK on AKK flop guy called my all in shove with A4 lol thanks

88 got called by KJ and AJ on Jh4h8d board vs two fish. I donked, got min raised, then shoved got two calls with the above hands, turn was J giving me FH river blanked thanks!

Same there where semi shorties.

One table, some nub always hand position on me when i had spec hands eg TT, JJ, QQ on awkward flops, no matter what i did, i was raised etc, he was playing 92% hands and hitting everything. so had to let them go

Gross.

Took it easy for a couple of days after my $600 downswing. After I cleared my head a bit some things about HUSNGs started clicking with me. Recovered my losses quickly after that happened. How I do from here on out should be interesting.

PS: I want to get a coaching job with this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW25w...eature=channel

1500 hands and finished up 2 buy-ins. I had some donk stack off pre-flop with A228 and fortunately my ds Aces held up. I'll just post a few hands.

I managed to induce a bluff on the river, though maybe he was value betting. I knew there was some missed draws and the straight might have raised turn so I called.

This one felt a bit thin, but I wasn't buying a flopped set line. I guess flopped 2 pair is possibility, anyway I stacked off and it held.

I'm not quite sure. My FT dial said I earned 24.xx ftp's that day, but the Take2 page said I earned 18.

That's how I knew he was a vegan, bc of that $10k bet.

I just played a quick session on FT to earn my 5 ftp's and ended up losing $1.30 and then I played 100 hands on PS and won $3. Gotta head to the pharmacy and then come home and watch some college football. GL this wknd everyone
