You played most of the day and didn't get dealt into a milestone hand? I really want to get dealt into one but feel it's mainly randomness/luck and there's no point playing more than usual.

I was going to mass table 5NL - but I think there's no point since its a lottery

Played a couple of hours today and things went good. I am doing very well at the $15 HUSNGs. I have just over 29% ROI over my last 100 games there. This makes me excited about the $30s because I don't think they will be much harder.

The hand below was kind of interesting. I called the c/r on flop because I have a pair and if I make two pair or trips I can win a big pot and if he has a FD and a spade doesn't come the turn might go C/C giving me a free card. On the turn I make trips but it also brings a spade. I decide to just call his bet because if he has a flush I'm drawing thin, but if he has a pair and I raise there is a chance he will fold with the turn pairing and bringing a spade, and if he's bluffing I want him to continue his bluff on the river. Basically I want to get more value from pairs and bluffs and this also lets me save money when he has a flush. River is a really bad card for me and I thought for a little bit before calling because I don't see a lot of cards he can bet here other than bluffs. Since this was early in the match I had to decide if he would bluff the river, I didn't have a good read from the play yet so I decided since it's a $15 and his stats weren't great he could be clicking buttons and bluff bad spots like this. It was a really weird spot to bluff. He must have thought (hoped) I peeled turn with a 10, or he just wasn't thinking at all.

Bit of an annoying session, within 200 hands I was up over 2 buy-ins. I mused to myself that I should probably quit. I kept going, lost it just missing the board, not running so hot and playing one or two hands I shouldn't have. I was feeling mildly tilted/frustrated but kept going. Made some back, then ran bad in a few pots, made some back again and quit up about $13 for the session.

One of the first hands of the session, I was deliberating getting it in on the flop but decided to take a turn. When villain checked I made the bet and when insta-raised I thought i'd walked into JJ. I made one of those calls expecting to see JJ but hoping he could do it with something else. Fortunately he didn't have JJ and I got there

Same villain as above, I think he was a bit tilted with me after all this. I didn't really want to get it in on the flop just because I know i'd be up against the draws but figured it was going to work out that way.

phew....what a tilting session. Started off and was up a little bit, but every time I went to turn my hand into a bluff with a nut blocker they then went and raised me for some bizarre reason and they didn't have enough behind to give me fold equity by re-raising so I had to fold. Then I went up about a buy-ins, I was thinking of quitting but saw I was only 100VPP from making platinum star so decided i'd go for it. Lost a bit and was down on the day but went on some hot run and was up about 3 buy-ins. Before losing some through pulling bluffs and some pots I really should have won tbh, getting coolered and stars said I was 0.85VPP from platinum star when I got a monster hand and I was up just under 2 buy-ins for the session, ended up getting it in with 51% equity and missing. So after 3k hands finished up a whopping $8 after being up over $30 but on the bright side I made platinum for the month (not sure if i'll keep it though.)

So tilting to get raised on the river. Villain's to short for me to re-raise so I had to just fold. People really don't think at times in this game - but I guess in general that's a good thing for me.

I tried the morning session which in the past have been swingy as hell and a bit of a grind, I considered maybe they weren't profitable. But I nitted it up and tried to get it in good as usual. I only really had one bit of run bad for a 70bb pot getting it in with KK on KQx and villain had AJT9 so I lost that. Apart from that I ran pretty well and folding when I know i'm supposed to kind of feels good because I know i'm saving myself money by not calling. Finished up about 3.5 buy-ins.

I was a bit hesitant about getting it in on this flop because my hand was made but decided I can't really fold and calling's not an option because tons of scare cards so got it in. Couldn't believe villain was doing this with just a set and an OESD.

I was so undecided about this hand...pre-flop was fine and then I flopped nut flush draw. I was hoping to check it and get a free card but UTG bet close to pot and I didn't think raising would achieve much and I was really deliberating folding vs calling because I thought someone else may have been trapping. I opted for the call and then SB bet pot. UTG called and I was hating this spot. There was about $18 in the pot and I needed to put in just under $7. I thought mathematically it's very close to a call, but if I call and miss do I fold turn? So I just shoved it in. 33.33% for me and I got there, definitely a bit of run good here

    ahahahaha *kills self*

got sick of four-tabling merge and not being able to understand what was happening because their layout is horrible, fired up 6 tables on Stars like I'm used to and donked off 4 BIs in about 50 hands. Got coolered hard. Two flopped straights vs. my AK and KQ with SPRs of 3-4, then had some psycho call a 70% pot bet with a gutshot on the flop and spike it on the turn. This is the only hand that's not 100% bad luck, but I don't mind the way I played it (although I did take the LAG line), and I think it would be successful against a reasonable opponent.

I had a pretty frustrating 3k hand session. The deck just ran so cold for me. If I had top 2 on the flop I was getting it in vs top set. People made some ridiculous plays against me, then I started running bad, I saw some unbelievable beats. I was down about 6 buy-ins, some how I didn't tilt and managed to finish down about 2.5 buy-ins. Bit of a waste of time but that's how PLO is I guess. Apologies about hands, if there's one to look at i'd recommend the last one.

Look at this....I make a play on the turn with nut blocker and they actually re-raise. I considered shoving but I was going to feel like a moron. I don't know if they sized it in a way that they'd fold but I wasn't going to find out.

PLO's a funny game sometimes. I was running pretty cold, not getting much and getting set over set. Then some how I managed to start dodging some big draws and after spending most of the session down a buy in or so I managed to finish up 2. Still haven't hit a milestone hand yet, rigged...

Some how managed to dodge the 2 flush draws, 60/40 for me on turn.

This was one of those hands I wasn't sure about. I didn't want to 4bet and jam any flop so just opted to call. I proceeded to bet my 2 pair + backdoor flush draw and felt a bit sick by the check-raise from SB. I thought it was going to be a set or some huge draw. Not really sure i'm that happy with my stack off here but I managed to go up against the same hand and dodged their redraw.

phew....what a tilting session. I played to the point of exhaustion and then went beyond. I first of all started off winning about 1.5 buy-ins and then I was playing a ton of tables and I started spewing + running a little bad. I did get it in on a slightly marginal hand for a big pot and bricked. I was down about 10 buy-ins from my high point of the day and feeling pretty tired but kept going. A milestone hand happened at PLO10, but not at my table of course. I moved to my bed and misclicked some K33x hand pre-flop and ended up flopping a set on J83ss flop, I didn't want to play the hand but ended up getting it in vs JJ all because I misclicked. I had more run bad, made a few good lay downs and quit feeling shattered after 5700 hands for the day down just under 3 buy-ins. On the bright side i've already made over 1k VPP for the month.

Started off the session running pretty well and hitting my draw.

And I'm back to having a reason to post in this topic!

After BF, poker was all but gone from my life. I got a handful of tournaments in at the local card room, without much success. 3 months of working full time without getting to play was a drag. Fast forward to this last summer, I managed to get myself invited to a regular home game, and managed to book a few nice wins. Halfway through September, I decided I had enough disposable income to start taking short stacked shots at live 2/5.

The last six weeks have been reasonably successful. I only had 2 losing days in October at 2/5. Took a few days off this week to recharge my batteries and mentally condition myself not to over-adjust my game now that everyone there has seen how I play. Getting back to the grind tonight!

OCT. Results: +$1,592 in 35 hours played

BR: ~$4,200 (+1.7k in FT money, but I'm not counting this until I have a check in my hands). I could possibly supplement this with other savings, since my job covers all my expenses, but I'm a life nit and like having an emergency fund.

Plan of Attack: Grind away with $200 buy-ins until I have a proper bankroll to buy in full.

I'd start a thread in PG&C, but I'm reluctant to post hands since I know a handful of regulars at my card room also post here (HINT: Talking like a 2+2 dictionary at the tables is bad for your table image )
