lol I don't think I've ever seen a double check raise like that.. in the first hand... I'm pretty sure I'd let it go after that.
08-07-2011 , 01:51 PM
against BB i knew i was good, he showed up with junk a couple hands previous he just seemed to like getting his money in the middle. SB though wasn't to sure he was 14/4 over 29 hands. So against a lot of his range i guessed i was ahead, although i still got it in lol

So probably a better fold than shove because of how blinds check raised?

So i have decided to start playing again and going to play 2NL for a bit. Deposited £20 on Paradise Poker - Not sure how long i will stay on that site, its dog **** compared to Pokerstars.

Not sure what to do to study, i spent most of my poker last year playing PLO, everything NL went out my head so its like starting again i guess.

I have so much info, vids from nearly every site and a few pdfs. Prob have a nice bankroll if i didnt spend so much lol.

Cant get HEM working with Paradise though, it imports when i refresh "Auto import from folder" and i get no hud.

Put it in bad = profit
Put it in good = not so much

Need 754 more games this month to make overdrive club, which should be easily doable provided I keep BE or slightly under.

This is probably the tighest flop fold I have made in a while. Guy was 10/10 over 100+ hands and isn't really agressive at all. He just called my 3bet from btn and then raised that super dry flop. I really didn't think he had air at all. Its either 22/77/KQ/AQ/KK/AA or air, and being as I just didn't think he ever had air this has to be a fold right? Despite how nitty it looks.

We were talking about what to do with hands like JJ OOP a few days ago and so I decided to play this hand against how I normally would although it isn't that bad, generally I think I would 3bet this but being as he was fairly solid and UTG I thought it isn't a bad spot to call and play a smaller pot.

I didn't like playing it this way, it felt weak but do I gain more value this way over 3betting? Play dependant I know but as played from pre flop can I do anything else here?

Thats fine, I think his range is pretty much skewed to QQ / 77 in this spot, the only hand you really beat is KQ so I can see a fold here (but TPTK in 3bet pot is usually good)

      Hand #2

Depends on villian, but its a standard 3b spot.

      As played bet/fold river.

While I am here I will update with how I have been getting on. I lost a fair bit towards the end of last month and so far this month im down 1 buy in over 8k hands, which isn't good. Iv been trying to find a way to play more tables and keep a profit, which hasn't really happened as yet. I have been 12-14 tabling stacking which I like and have had some winning/losing sessions with but I cant be playing my A game whilst doing it and the different in winrate is noticable. 6 tabling tiled is what I usually do but just really wanted to pump up the volume so I can move up quicker, I think my game is improving while I 12 table and I might just stick at it. Variance is obv higher when you play like this and I need to value bet more and fold when I know im beat.

Losing too many little pots has killed my win rate too, just things like cbetting then having to fold, where I think id have a better read if I could see all the tables constantly.

One last thing I think my 3bet/4bet range thing is pretty bad. Basically vs a 3bet, I fold 65% of the time, call 31% of the time and 4bet around 4%. What are your stats for this? At my level im only going to 4bet AA/KK vs most players, maybe Ak/QQ. I know I shouldn't stack of lighter but I think its +ev to 4bet me everytime I 3bet, which can't be good? I am slightly confusing myself though so im hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
      08-08-2011 , 10:33 AM
And... I'm BUSTO. Again. I run SO GOOD.

      10nl

@Andy, people won't really be 4betting you light MUCH at 10NL (sometimes they will if you are 3betting them alot and getting annoyed), when you get to 25NL it becomes much more common, wouldn't worry about it too much. Most "regs" I see at 10NL have a 4b range of 2%(this is not 4bet %), so AA KK QQ AK and maybe JJ, remember it's all relative to how often you open pre. A 8/5 nit will have like 60% 4bet (4bet range will be similar) because they are opening so few hands.

dw about being exploitable but you will show a profit by 4b/c AK/QQ vs people who are situationally 3betting 5%+

the poker enviroment is ****ed up right now. the only legit site is ps. so the fish to reg ratio is just lol and this without rakeback...
i cashed out all my funds. now i have 17k points laying around. if i get the itch to play, i can convert it to cash. but i will convert the points to gift certificates.
      08-10-2011 , 10:25 AM
Wait a bit, it might make more sense to get cash with the way exchange rates could be moving. Especially if you're converting to €.
      08-10-2011 , 11:07 AM
i mean it is not a lot i am cashing out... around $1.3k --> €900. i am ok with this.

i won't give up on poker all together. if a juicy reload bonus comes up, i will deposit again. i don't have the nerves to play breakeven poker right now.
      08-10-2011 , 11:53 AM
I have over 80k points lying around. Got my gold star for the first time in a while too (could probably get platinum if I saw any point) but there's nothing I really want from the store and the exchange rate kind of sucks. I guess i'll just keep them and buy Amazon vouchers when I want to buy something. After BF the pokerstars store removed a ton of good items.

I just felt like donking around, not having to think too much and just getting my stack in so PLO was what I ended up playing. I got 1700 hands in and was up a bit till I lost a sizeable pot which messed up my session. Ended up winning a buy-in. I might have a go with NLH this weekend again, or do some PLO or even do something unrelated to poker.

Such a nice flop for my hand lol.

I played some more PLO, I was down a few buy-ins as I was bluffing off my stack in too many spots. I ran well in some spots admittedly, made a few buy-ins. I'm quite enjoying PLO, i've been mixing up my game more than I used to. Not sure if i'll go back to grinding PLO or what i'll do.

Probably a little bad by me pre-flop. I decided to shove flop just for fold equity and I had an ok draw.

Seems like everyone else is dead around here. I still hate the weekends. Started a session, down 7 buy-ins in about 200 hands. Playing a bit too loose and flopping all sorts of things like top 2 vs top set, some made hands and getting out-drawn. I made a recovery before some really sick things happened. Got a bit bored and quit down just under 2 buy-ins after 2k hands. What a waste of time

This was pretty much one of the first hands I played. A pretty huge flop for me at least the way I saw it. Heads up against the set i'm a favourite but I was blocked on the flush so my hand wasn't so good.

I decided to mix it up in position and the min 3bet was **** so I called. I thought maybe they were getting funky with AAxx and some spades. I decided to get it in drawing pretty dead. Biggest losing pot of the session.

I 3bet because of position and it's an ok hand. Flop was ok for me so I cbet and the turn felt like it brought more outs. I was on the side between checking and betting but opted to bet. I got a bit lucky as flush outs weren't good and for some reason villain moved all in on river. I guess he put me on a set.

I decided to 3bet because of position + my hand is one of those that can flop well. Flopped the nuts and for some reason villain bet/called with his hand. He's currently 3% on the flop with no flush draw. I thought maybe the turn helped but I wasn't prepared to fold, i'd lost 7% equity and he was 10/90 to win and got there. fml, what a waste of a day! I have no idea why I play weekends, every weekend it's always the same. Crush in week, grind away on the weekend and either waste a load of time breaking even or losing. So I guess i'm done with them in future. I had another go again, another 2k hands and I think i'm being a bit too loose. Got it in bad in a few spots. But the worst was losing some big pots in some nasty ways. I just played to the point where i've now got a bitch of a headache and feeling sick with poker. -$18 on the day.

This was sweet, villain was some huge fish who was 3betting every single hand & firing every street. So when he 3bet me pre-flop there was no chance I was folding when i've got position. Flop wasn't great but I peeled for the turn and when I picked up some extra equity I figured shoving was probably the best play.

I'm not being superstitious, every weekend I play I lose. When I look back at my biggest losses they've all been over the weekend.

I played again tonight, just feel so damn sick of it. Start off going down, then up a bit on the session and then I just ran epically bad. People slowrolling when they turn 2 outers. Me putting in over 50% of my stack with AAxx pre-flop and then jamming flop when i'm deep of course and they hit the best flop they can hope for. I must have missed pretty much every draw. Can't do anything right so I eventually quit about 40 mins too late. Make that -$40 for the day (all at PLO2) - getting deep and then unlucky is to blame (but I really did run horrible all day), maybe I should just stick to sitting with ~100bb. Back to hating PLO.
