ugh what a waste of a night again. AA cracked by 68 aipf. Got soul read by 44 on an J 9 7 7 A board when I 3 barreled it with a fd and 2 overs. Whiffed a 15 outter vs an overpair vs a gutshot, gutshot wins. Again thought I might break out in an mtt today.. finished 21st or so in the 7pm $1mtt... waste of 5 hours imo. **** night overall.

-$7 in cash
-$4.90 in sngs/mtt's

-$11.90 on the day

Stars: $223.08
Currently: 1,423 hands at 10nl, at 8.89bb/100... pretty meh, but I'm running pretty ****ty too imo.. oh well. On the plus side, did figure out the AHK reload, which is sexy. Next step.. make my graph not go up and down so damn much....swoooooooongs.

It's morning here in UK, don't normally play at these times but I'm out of work.

There was someone making 50xBB raises PF, but that soon became all in every hand.

Ill get in on this.

Long story short, had a small amount on PS, royally sucked. This is when I first started coming here.

Studied my ass off, and opened up my range quite a bit and the results have been nice. I should be a 25NL within the week. (hopefully)

10-06-2008 , 07:18 AM
Oh, I thought I'd mention, as I had in another thread, I'm starting a sort of monthly project/goal for myself, basically starting only with FPPs (doing Sats), get 1.2k a month, then get 500 starting dollars for the next month and getting 1.8k profit, and then 2.4k, and so on, moving up stakes where appropriate. I'm recording my progress at www.twitter.com/RoSeeker

Right now I'm up 150 since the start of the month. Not running too well, but doing all right.
10-06-2008 , 05:39 PM
Heres my graph so far, started off with $15 dollars or so, at 5NL now and made more than half my BR in like 3 days at 5NL than I did in 2 months at 2NL

10-07-2008 , 12:32 AM
Nicely done Jmorto, I did well at 5NL over the weekend, but tonight I wasn't so hot. Started off well, but I started to get too big for my britches (yes I sadly just said that) and donked off some chips.

Managed to save myself, and go back to abc poker, but it was still a little disheartening after a good start. Ended up making some money tho....

Current BR: 124.82, made a whole .04 cents, but it's better than losing

Poker Stars is pleased to be coolering me all night. Fing sick.

Villains smooth call with aces preflop and get rewarded. I hope those two get the doomswitch soon.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to the game. I started playing last summer on PS. I put in $45. I played a bit but then fishing season started and I didn't play for about 9 months. I started playing again last week. I had about $55. I broke $80 last night.

I play micro-stakes STT ($1.20). I am doing pretty well at cashing...

This site (and this thread) have shown me that I need to start keeping track of some stats. I appreciate why that would be important.

My goal is to hit $90, then switch to $3 STT, then when i hit $150, switch to $5 STT.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the inspiration!

Welcome to the forums, and good luck.

Had some stuff to do so I was 1 tabling 2NL. Decided to go back down and see what made me a winning player, and a break even/losing player at 5NL.

It is just me getting nervous/not playing my game, I get too caught up in thinking about the money.

I was running 9/9, 15/15, and something like 12/12 last night when 3 tabling 5NL, I even made a vid on it, here. Warning it is a losing session, and I am playing EXTREMELY tightly. I made a post on it in the PL/NL micro stakes forums, but thought why not post it here too.

Tonight on 2NL i was something like 20/15, maybe 21/16, with 132.92 BB/100 over 51 minutes and 51 hands. Not the largest sample, or time frame, but I was doing other things, and I didn't want to get too many tables going.

I think one of my leaks and -EV is shutting down and not betting when I feel I have the best hand because of a scary board.

Below is an example, normally I won't call down like I did, especially with this type of board, but this player was 83/6, and has been calling and showing down with hands like j/2o and the like.

Thoughts?

with a read i guess its not too bad to call down with 66, but you want a cheap showdown and you know this guy isnt gonna fold, so why raise turn? also if he is a station please shove that river.

Point taken. This is one of my leaks, trying to push a station off a hand thinking the ace is a scare card. Thanks for the input, I will work on shoving with these types of hands.

Guess that was supposed to be a value check on the river?

what would people reccomend I play with $10 on stars I freerolled yesterday and won $2 and built that up playing 90 man $1 stgs and then winning 3 $2heads ups. mtts are my preffered game so should i stick to the 90 mans or are these not profitable.

I would say stick with the 1.25 9 man sngs for now until you get a little cushion. Also at night tilt has a 10cent buyin rebuy mtt with 50cent rebuys.. so I might throw one of those in on occasion, just being real careful and only using the 10cent buyin, and then a rebuy and the add-on. Its tough on ftp because they have such high rake at micro sngs but there is at least a decent range in low sngs.
10-10-2008 , 09:05 AM
Been getting crushed at the tables, can't stop tilting had to close everything just to try and calm down.

Feel like I'm not going to do well until I sort these tilt issues out.

Need resolve...

Also got my first royal flush today, failed to get paid. lol

just started building my roll. got a seat at the most loose table ever known to mankind. Got up from 2$ to 53$ on 2NL table. this is my 2000BB+ pot. was thinking a lot before making a call. just couldn't imagine button having any decent type of hand, because had so much reads on him from previous hands. anyway, i know i was risking but i had to call i was putting him on 33-99, A8+ and i think he wasn't expecting to play a hand against me instead he was thinking of me folding and waiting for SB to call, cause SB lost almost 10full buy-ins of 5$.

Why are you sitting with $30 at a .01/.02 table? Why is that whole table sitting with stacks like that?
10-10-2008 , 04:45 PM
deposited 20$ about 5 weeks ago, just hit 300$.

threads like this were an inspiration, as was just reading the board and really applying tight-aggressive more and more. the rise starting at around 325 games was when i switched from 45-people 1.10$ sng's to 6 people 3.25$ sng's, clearly that worked out. i really just wanna continue this steady rise (and improving my skills and reads), not thinking about stepping up in stakes at all yet.

(previously over the past two years i'd lost about 4 or 5 ~25$ deposits, i realize now how all-over-the-place i was (like some of the people i take money from now))
10-10-2008 , 04:49 PM
Hey guy`s, this is my first post in this thread.. i`m also trying to build a bankroll from the micros on stars aswell. put $50 in a few days ago and at $67 the now.

Today i had my first straight flush ..... and it got beat by a royal flush lol just my luck.

I was at a table like this today (not the table in question tho).... but the stacks were high on the one i was at because someone who normaly plays at higher limit`s came down (he`s a 2+2er... i think he was tilting) and was all-in almost every hand with a full buy-in of $5..... (100/98/10.6 over 53 hands) thanks for the $10 tho

so ermm good luck at the tables everyone!
