If there are a reasonable amount of hands in your opponents range that beat you, you might want to keep the pots smaller or not be betting at all, else there will certainly be times you lose a lot of money.

Ignore the first hand. I regret ever posting that ****ing hand to be honest.

Could've moved this to BBV, but it looks like OP might actually be looking for help with his play, so I thought I'd try to give him a more...friendly...environment.

Yeah I did not start this thread out the right way! Thanks for moving my post over.

Watibinost thanks for posting. There are a lot of really - bad - articles - regarding bank roll management. None of the articles I read suggested 100 buy-ins bank roll for on-line (and I read many).

If 100 buy-ins is the suggestion for surviving variance, then I'm not worried since I am around 20 lost buy-ins.

The first post in my thread I am willing to chalk up to bad play. It's hard to tell a limper with Jack-garbage off-suit drawing for a 4-flush vs. a made flush but no reason to spew on it. However there's nothing I can see that I can do about those other hand histories I posted where I am 60, 70 or even 80% to win the hand when it all gets pushed all-in. I am getting crushed in the last 5k hands on big pots but sounds like I just need to go down a step in stakes, starts over, run another 5k hands and see what happens.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. Glad I could help.

Just keep practicing, and realize that bad beats can happen even if you play perfectly. I doubt it has much to do with the network. Good luck

PS that guy has a lot of good videos, I've been watching a lot of them myself recently. I'm relatively new as well.

I enjoyed those videos. I watched some more of them.

I did find some things in my poker tracker:

-Sessions lasting over 3 hours are always a losing session.
-My biggest losing hands are when the villain flops a set (this is not a surprise, I used to purposefully avoid playing AA, KK, QQ - I used to be one of those players that would literally fold these hands). I still need to figure out how to play but not overplay large pocket pairs.
-I have lost a lot of big pots on tilt chasing meaningless draws or no draws at all (folding on turn or river after putting a bunch of money in for no reason). Looks like old fashioned tilt is still a source of -BB/100.

Still digging through it but it's nice having solid history to go back and look at. I think some improvements I need to make:

-Increase bankroll (was using 20 BI, better to use 50 BI or 100 BI)
-Get used to sick sick sick sick ****ing beats in on-line poker (And get used to it happening REGULARLY)
-Session max 3 hours, 2 hours is sweet spot for me.
-Watch for old fashioned tilt.
-Learn how to limit the damage on AA, KK
-Start doing more regular analysis of the data - devote some time to data analysis and also tutorials/videos/books to learn more about specific situations.

I think if I can get through this current bad downswing and implement the overall general changes above I'll be o.k.

I watched those videos, stuff like squeeze play, set mining, etc. Of all the videos I watched it seemed to mesh with my basic strategy. So assuming what the guy teaches is a winning strategy then I should be ok at micro limits for now.

Ugh.... lol

This one is a very easy fold on the river since you only have a pair and villain has a set.

Didn't read the rest of them but these are standard spots you need to learn how to play.

Um, I'm having a hard time seeing how OP finds a fold on the river
Spoiler:
villain was all-in pre-flop

Mostly you are getting your money in good, but still losing. Such is poker life. It's the other hands you should look at.

There are a few trends you might want to change:
  • Consider reducing your sizing pre and increasing sizing OTF.
  • Consider folding to some of villains' turn and river shoves.
  • Don't C/R when there are three to a flush on board.
  • Post #6 seems to be same hand as post #13, and what's with the bet of 7 into a pot of 96?

Nah its still an easy fold on the river bc we know deep down he has a set....

FFS guys, this isn't BBV and 'fold river' was never funny in the first place.

With that said, most of these hands were misplayed - I'm not going to respond to all of them but the most important thing for you to do now is move down. Bovada is megasoft but you're still clearly not good enough to beat 100NL.

just looked at the first post and clearly OP needs help.

THIS hand was no bad beat OP, even though you had AA.
if you would ahve won after the money went in on the turn, then your opponent could have complained about a bad beat.

YES you had AA, the very best starting hand. but come flop, it is only 1 pair (albeit the best possible).

On the Flop, your opponent was a 97% fav to win the hand.

Seems kind of odd to bump a 6 month old thread to say that.
