Hello 2+2

I have played a session, and I was down around 200bb in 900 hands.

So I am bleeding bb's at non-showdown.

I just feel I can't hit a flop, and when I hit the other guy, just hit something better. I play 2nl.

What do you do to get a positive or break-even non-showdown graph ?

Generally 900 hands is an extremely small sample size, usually a min of 10k hands is required. If you still feel the same way then, then you should post a couple of your graphs so we can get a feel for your situation.
Also just remember that for most players their non-showdown line will be in the -ve, especially at the micros.

I'm not overly concerned about the red line, the green line is the important one, so long as it is going upwards that is pretty much all that matters:

This is my 2NL graph:

Red line is pretty much on a constant downward slope. Blue line is pretty upwards slant and it brings the green line up with it.

Don't try anything too fancy at 2NL, its usually pointless to bluff, just bet your big hands when you have them.

As said above, the green line matters more than the red line.

Most players bleed $ at non-showdown. We win small pots (preflop/flop aggression), lose medium pots (because we slow down when we hit resistance and don't have a good hand) and win big pots (because we value town fish).

The other kind of player is super aggressive and has a positive red line, he wins small and medium pots but tends to lose big pots at show down.

Either way, the green line of a typical winning player looks much the same.

I know it's 2NL but I am still pretty happy with it as I can remember being so completely lost through the first 30-40k hands. It seems somewhere after that I gained some notion of what I was meant to be doing.

I normally play higher now but I do still dip into the 2NL pool at times when spirits are low or just when I want to play for enjoyment without risking a lot.
