Hi all

My name is Matt and I am the official representative for Betfair Poker here on 2+2. I have a monthly thread over in the Internet Poker forum but I thought I would create a thread here for the less experienced players amongst us.

I am available to answer absolutely any questions you may have about Betfair Poker, from the software to sign-up bonuses, from new promotions to rakeback. If you have a question please ask.

I know it can be quite daunting when you first start playing poker as you don't want to look silly, especially on a public forum but please don't be shy, I'm a poker player myself so know how you are feeling!

That's all for now, over to you

Why is rakeback a variable rate? Will betfair be changing it's software or making improvements to it any time soon?

Hey, I was wondering would I be able to get rakeback with Betair, 2 years ago I created an account but just for the sports betting. I've never been on the poker part of the site, so was hoping perhaps they are seperate registrations and maybe I am eligible for the rakeback?

Thanks for any help.

Hello FairRep,

Why did Betfair put me through hell when I wanted to withdraw money from my account, even though I sent multiple valid documents? was it because I turned $50 into $20,000 in two weeks and you were afraid of "hit and run"? did you want the money to stay in so I am tempted to play?

Why did your representatives ignore my phone calls? why would you find another excuse not to verify my account when I provided another, and another document you requested? why did you say I was never applicable for rakeaback even though I was playing 1/2 NL?

Dear FairRep, it really doesn't matter - you and your fellow reps were successful in your mission. Eventhough I wanted to cash-out and start learning bit by bit, your refusal to verify my account did end up blurring things up for me, and I did lose the $20,000 in the following month.

Dear FairRep, karma is a bitch, remember that next time you put a client through ****ing hell.

BitchiBee This question was brought up by a 2+2 poster yesterday and I have forwarded it onto the poker room manager. I will post any replies I receive both here and in the thread that is in the Internet Poker forum

Masq The rakeback is at a variable rate in order to reward, retain and attract higher volume players. This is actually standard across other sites and networks as the more a player rakes, the greater the rewards to that player are.

Betfair are continually making improvements to the software in order to make playing there a more pleasurable experience. What sort of improvements would you like to see at Betfair Poker?

I used to play on Betfair until I got Holdem Manager and now the flickering has driven me away.

I know there are others who get the same issue so I reckon it could be in your interests to talk to HEM and try to get the issue fixed.

It's a simple thing and shouldn't be tough to solve.

SawyerAnthony it sounds like you have had a negative experience.

Do you have copies of the emails youe exchanged with support over this issue? If so could you provide me with them?

Also, Betfair has to request identifcation by law due to it not only being a poker site but also a sports betting site. They have a duty to protect their clients from underage gambling and also a duty by law.

What ID did you send to Betfair as when I had to provide my documents I simply emailed the address support sent me with an image of my driving licence and credit card, with certain numbers blanked out as requested, and my account was verified within 48 hours.

Regarding rakeback, this can only be added to accounts that have not signed up through any affiliate at all. Even if you did not sign up with a specific affiliate, you may have visited their site and stored a cookie. Would you like me to find out which affiliate you are tagged to?

Finally, I am sorry that you ended up losing the $20,000 you won and in a short space of time, whilst this is unfortunate it is also not the fault of Betfair Poker as you were the person playing on the account. As a poker player I sympathise with you over your substantial loss.

Please do not let the negativity of one poster sway your decision to try out a new site, when there are literally thousands of happy customers playnig on Betfair Poker each and every day.

My Hold'em Manager HUD flashes like crazy also and this is nothing to do with Betfair Poker, it is down to how Hold'em Manager displays the stats on the screen.

There is a large thread on the Hold'em Manager forums that contains posts from dozens of players with the same problem and the Hold'em Manager support team say there is nothing they can do as it is a graphics card issue.

That said, I no longer use the HUD but I managed to use one when I rolled the HUD back to a previous version but kept Hold'em Manager at the most current level.

I will try to find the HUD files that do not flicker and contact you to send them onto you.

Get rid of the horrible blue layout making the cards proper colours such as on FTP/Stars, move chat box, improve bet slider. I haven't played Betfair I admit but i've heard it's not so good for multi-tabling and software is prone to crashing so if this issue exists it needs resolving. But really the layout really puts me off playing there for now.

Do not try to smear me around here buddy, I have kept silence with this since January, and you do NOT want this pandora box open, trust me - the slyly way your support has played with me is not something you want posted on this forum. Ask your friends in the support department, I'm sure at least one of them remembers that stupid guy that thought he stood any chance to receive his money - I was calling you every day for 3 weeks.

No I won't, what is going to be done about it anyway? you are hinting as if you guys have nothing to hide, but don't **** with me here, I will post all of the documented mail exchange on this site if you insist on this.

Of course after that you will come saying that this is wrong and that is not the way it went, but the fact is - I sent you all the required documents, and you kept finding excuses.

That's wonderful FairRep! what a positive customer experience is awaiting the 2+2er's!

Well, the documents I sent were: copy of my driving license, copy of my ID, copy of my passport, copy of a bank account transfer, copy of my credit card bill..want me to continue?

Are you kidding? what makes you think I would EVER consider playing on Betfair again? you know what, even if I was GUARANTEED to win $20,000 on there, I won't even drive myself through the mental abuse I was expriencing with your support.

I think this should have been the only thing you said to me. You would've got out of it smoothly and nicely. You are right, it is not your fault I lost the $20,000 - you just knew that it would happen eventually since you sensed the activity on my account.

And me? it is my fault, eventhough I knew I shouldn't have touched my account after that hot run and you refusing to verify me, I kept playing into your hands. I should've just kept them there, and maybe one day fly over to your ****ing offices proving you I am who I am.

I am a young guy that once turned $50 into $22K within a week, and you knew very well my head was lost after seeing that, you knew I'd want action - so you kept me in.

Keep answering people's questions, cause trust me what I'm about to do if you keep smearing me like that is beyond imaginable.

Firstly, thanks for the suggestions they are appreciated.

The client is now much more stable than it once was after various improvements were made to the servers and indeed the software.

Also, there is now an option to display the table in the blue you don't like and also in green or red. You can also alter the colours of the tables so that one colour will display when you're at a cash table and a different one, if you wish, when playing tournaments.

I'll mention the chat box and bet slider issues to the powers that be.

I used to play HUSNG's up to the $30 level but I want to get back into cash games so I'm currently trying to play 10k hands at each level starting at the dizzy heights of $0.02/$0.04, balla! I've played as high as NL100 though.

Ok, thanks for that. I may very well be coming to Betfair very soon after the horrible FTP update. Here's an important lesson: don't fix a problem that doesn't exist.

Hello FairRep,

Does BetFair off a DoN Sng? What stakes (+ fee) are offered?

In another thread, u said that everyone not being attached to an affiliate could get rakeback form an affiliate of their choice, well this was the answer i got from support:
Thank you for your e-mail.
> As per the below query, after looking into your account I can confirm that you are not affiliated with anyone. However, if you would like to receive rakeback you will need to rake a minimum of £100 per month for three consecutive months. Once you have done this get back to us and we will put you on a rakeback deal according to your rake level.
> Below is the rakeback structure:
> - £100 - £300 = 20%
> - £300 - £1000 = 25%
> - £1000 - £2000 = 30%
> - >£2000 = VIP Structure
>
> Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries.

Can u help me? do u have an email adress?

Hi

Betfair Poker currently run seven different stakes for their double or nothing games, all of which are six handed.

In each of the games players start with 1,000 chips and the blinds increase every five minutes, starting at 10/20

The stakes offered are as follows:

$2.50 + $0.25
$5.50 + $0.55
$11 + $1.10
$22 + $2.20
$55 + $5.50
$99 + $9.90
$201 + $10

I will try find out why there are no $33 + $3.30 games available as I think it would be a logical step between the $22 and $55 games

BTW, I have found a way to stop the HUD flickering when on Betfair Poker.

It isn't ideal but I have the files that will roll back the HUD to a version that works. Obviously the HUD isn't as great as the most current version but it is better than it inducing an epiletic fit as it does on some machines currently!

Anyone who wants them just PM me and I'll either forward them on or point you in the direction of them on the net

Scrap that for the time being, seems the newer versions of HEm have killed the ability to roll back your HUD on Betfair if you need to.

I've posted on their forum and will update here for anyone interested
