Meh, that's an easy fix, and it's the one that will most likely be in place for Americans anyway (and what they do at the wsop) - taxed cashouts.

But some of you guys are crazy. We'll be absolutely pig-**** lucky just to have a piece of federal legislation pass, let alone have an international player base. For me, I'm just hoping I can move to another state because I don't see any federal legislation passing anytime soon.

Not all of us live in the USA For me it makes no difference at all to my situation if you guys get legislation passed if international players can't play. Don't get me wrong, I really hope it works out for you as the current situation stinks, however I do have a vested interest in legislation passing AND international players being allowed to play.

Have 6months expenses in your bank and 40 bi then give it a shot.

I think if you have to ask these questions your underestimate how hard it is going to be. Poker is a tough living IMO.

Yes, of course, I got what you're saying, but you'll be waiting a really long time... probably be able to legally torch a J by the time that comes around.

Bills are changed by votes, not by one person.

Votes happen because a majority agrees. For this bill over 90% of Democrats voted for it, and over 90% of Republicans voted for it. That was true in both the House and Senate. If one branch of government votes on a different version of a bill then the other branch gets notified and the bill goes to "reconciliation" where obviously differences are reconciled.

That's true whether or not Congresspeople feign ignorance after the fact.

There are lots of checks and balances so that would you imagine happened can never happen.

The reason that government officials continually gets away with doing the wrong thing is that people like you don't hold them accountable.

This is very idealistic thinking. No way to stop an 11th hour rider being attached to a must-pass piece of legislation. As far as I know, the person responsible for inserting the UIGEA (which had no chance of passing on its own) onto the port security bill has left politics and is back to practicing medicine.

Ok are you at all familiar with exactly how the UIGEA passed? It was not voted on specifically. It was snuck in, HIDDEN, into a 500 page security document that nobody even READ. It's a fluke. It became law by simple manipulation of the legal system. Aside from the fact that most people in congress dont even know what the UIGEA is or how it ever came to be, plenty of people HAVE tried to abolish it, and have gotten absolutely NOWHERE.

You say I haven't held them accountable? What planet are you living on? Every possible action has been taken to rectify this great injustice, and absolutely zero progress has been made. There has been effort much greater than anything I or you could ever hope to produce, and it has completely fallen on deaf ears.

The only way UIGEA gets repealed is either because some other lawmaker comes up with an even greater scheme that gets the attention of others to make this profitable for the gov't, or Johnnie Cochran decides to take it pro bono.
