Hey guys,

Looking to get a start in poker again and hoping I can find some information on the best way to go about it here.

My background in poker is MTTs which I have played for a couple of years with some success so I have an idea about the basics in poker.

Basically I'm looking to start from the ground up with maybe a $250-500 deposit. So my first question is, what games are the best at present for building a bankroll? I've previously played 180s although i hear although still beatable the edge is being squeezed out of them given an influx of regs.

Second question, outside 2+2 forums, what are the best resources available for learning the game at present?

Thanks in advance guys.

A good bankrollbuilder is a game you beat. Simple as that.
If you are looking for a steady growing bankroll, choose low variance games > STT's, 18 mans, full ring cash and definately NOT MTT(SNG's) /180's. If you hit a downswing at the 180's with a $500 BR, you are busto in a couple of days.

The best way to learn is to review your sessions, get coaching or subscripe to a training site.

90 man KO's on FTP. Unfortunately they don't seem to run above the $3 level, but if you deposit $500 you could play those to take your BR above 1K at least.

In other words, it's not as simple as that!

It is as simple as that ofc the only bankrollbuilders are the ones that you can make profit from. Otherwise youre not building it. Thats the simple part.

The second part was just a tip - a steady BR builder is a game with low variance. MTT's can also be bankrollbuilders, but you'll need a bigger starting roll for that.

If I was to start all over again I wild do 18mans.. Mtts are to high variance for starting a roll, 180s have lost most value, and 9 max are dead.

So if ur looking for sngs you got 6 and 18, and your mtt skills transfer better to 18s... There fairly beatable too... Quite a few bad regs running around.

I hate it when people say "This man needs no introduction", then introduce him. Or say "The title says it all", then write another paragraph. Or say "It's as simple as that" and then write 2 more sentences.

There are obviously better and worse games for building a bankroll, as you began to explain. Take a little credit now, because if you don't I'm flaming you worse next time...
