I don't have a large amount of hands do back me up, but it seems like when I'm playing 6 tables at once a lose a lot more than when I play only 1 or 2.

Sounds about right. Play less tables and develop and progress your game. Once you get to the point that you are A.) making money and B.) your decisions are automatic, then start adding in tables. Until then you are doing too much at once to be profitable, as you're still too early in your learning stage.

Past that if you are playing too many tables, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to learn anything from what you are doing, and will make poor decisions consistantly.

+1

For now try playing 2 tables at a time and then as your game progresses try adding more tables one by one. Don't be in a hurry to play many tables, because if your game has leaks, you will only lose your BR much faster rather than make a profit.

Meh.
Playing more tables and you learn faster. Just make sure your taking your time on each table with your descicions and not rushing. You can press time... fold/raise your other tables then come back to one you have to think about. 2-6 tables is nothing really.

Poker isn't about making profit in the beggining. You need to learn as fast as you can and forget about the $. You always have at least 10 buy ins unless you go below 5$. Id rather lose some $ but learn than grind out a small $ and not develop to much.

Play as many tables as you can without feeling rushed to make decisions.

A lot of successful players don't play more than 4. Most break even/losing players get in the trend of playing too many tables without being capable of making good analytical decisions each hand.

If you can only play 2 for now then 2 it is. A HUD should help a lot with playing up to 4-6 though.

Learning the skill to play poker is more important than learning the skill of playing many tables. A good poker player can learn to play 15-20 tables in a few hours of practice given some tips. A guy who is good at multitabling is much harder to teach to play better poker; playing a lot of tables sucks you in.

Until you're a pretty good player, anything that gets in the way of learning to play poker is a big minus. I agree with the gist here: don't play enough tables to make you feel rushed. Until your instinctive decision is your best decision, playing enough tables to be rushed hurts your results and your development.

If you break even playing 6tables but winning with 1-2tables, I would just suggest you to keep playing 6tables and try to improve playing 6tables. That's what I did at 2NL and it was much quicker to build br.

You're probably talking about NL, but I just thought I'd add that it definitely depends on your game. I've found that in Limit, playing a couple tables is better than one because I'm seeing more hands and I get to play more. This helps combat the temptation to call with marginal hands in early position due to boredom. But I'm only able to do this because it's much more mechanical than NL, and since I'm not too experienced I wouldn't feel comfortable multitabling NL and facing difficult decisions.
