OK, can someone please explain what BRM is. I understand you dont put any more the x amount of your BR up at one time and so on but what is optimal BRM for S&G's and for cash games, do they differ? Also i hear people say that with good BRM you cant go broke, how is this.
I know it is a stupid Q as i have been a winning player for a few years now, however, i am wanting to move up and think i need to know BRM better.
Are there any good articles on BRM?
Thanks for your reply's.

Optimal depends on the person, but typical starting points are 40 buy ins for SNGs, 100 for MTTs and 20 for cash games.

Because if you manage your bankroll properly you should have enough buy ins to counteract variance for the unfortunate occasions where you have massive downswings. A lot of the most stringent people about BRM have 100 buy ins for cash games, so they can take a 20 buy in downswing and still be ok, where someone who only had 20 would have had to move down and rebuild (or gone broke if they just kept playing).
