Villain was a solid reg, a little passive at times. 18/13 (5K hands on him)

I reraised flop as I figured I was ahead and didn't want to get outdrawn, and wanted to get a few players out the hand or take it down.
I bet the turn as I think villain will call with worse.
I check the turn a. as he is pretty solid and has shown a lot of interest and b. KQ, 87s made it.

Could I have got away from the hand? cheers

Presume you are referring to my half pot bet on the turn. I do click buttons a bit I agree, something I need to work on. Guess that's what you meant?

Make it 4bb pre. Bet bigger on the turn. Could maybe bet small OTR, rest is fine.

Good table selection by the way. It's tough in 2014 to get a 5-way raised pot with 7 players on the table.

Call the flop and play very cautiously with one pair 5-ways. QQ is not strong enough to raise in this multiway pot. You're basically turning it into a bluff. When you get called, it's because you almost always have a second-best hand. Betting the turn is very thin/spewy too imo.

As played, checking the river looks fine, because you block the only hand you beat (QJ) and are crushed by all the straights, sets and two pair combos.

Even though it's 5ways the bet is 1/5th pot and if they were bad enough to (limp)call with hands preflop to make it a 5way pot then they're bad enough to call with a lot worse. I think the flopraise is pretty good because if you flat you're giving other people the most disgusting odds to chase random hands that have equity against you. Turnbet is pretty decent, it's a blank so the weird hands he can be calling flop with aren't folding turn very often. River is pretty gross since it improves his hand so often so check it down.

It's not often in this section where I find a hand that hasn't been completely butchered and that I would play 99% the same. Would raise a little bigger preflop though as there was a limp and given there can be limpers on your table you want to punish them a bit more since they're probably going to be pretty terrible.

Cheers for the comments chaps, table was pretty loose!
Nice to know I didn't totally butcher the hand!

And get what you are saying Arty re our hand only getting called by better when re raise but I guess I figured I was ahead and didn't want to get out drawn with so many players in - oh and what's with the new Arty persona!

Oh and agree with 4bb pre definitearticle would normally do this tbh was slack here for some reason
