I considered a 3b pre, but I don't think I am necessarily ahead of his range here, and although I haven't seen him facing a 3b my guess is he may call a lot IP. Also, he minraises, lolpotodds says I call here. Right/wrong ?

Flop c/r seemed like the best line for value. I am definitely prepared to stack off here. sizing ?

Turn sizing seemed about right to me (?)

River I considered shoving. Is that better/worse than 75% pot ?

Pf seems fine for the reasons you said. No point 3betting with no reads and bloating a pot oop. If u were SB I'd say fold, but as ur completing it's ok imo.

Agree with flop ch/raise if ur prepared to stack off. U want money in the pot. Sizing is on the large side but i like it considering u say villain is passive. As he's also tight he'll fold his air but can def call with worse draws. I'd rather be aggressive with this draw oop. IP I'd just call.

Turn is good size for value. His range is pretty narrow now tho when he calls to sets and worse flushes. If he is NITty then he'd probably fold his overpairs here

River i'd go smaller and bet/fold around $48. There's only 5 combos of SC we are getting value from and there's should be no way he's calling any overpairs here. So that leaves 9 set combos that just made it otr.

I don't like shoving as that just folds out worse and gets called by better. Make it a size he can make a crying call with imo. If he's as you described he won't be raising you without a boat here ever

If villian floats then I would consider c/c river as an alternate line. imo flop sizing seems pretty awesome.

there goes my $0.02, from a 5nl reg :P

Heh, April came and surprised me before I could get back to this.

I think a minraise in these games is a cheap steal, or a cheap attempt to see a flop, or very occasionally a trap for a 3bet to 4bet over.

My reads were very limited, but he didn't seem the aggro type, so I didn't think he was trapping.

AE and mikes007 have convinced me that 3bet or fold is a better line vs an unknown. I don't think my line of calling $2 here in a pot of $7 is a huge mistake though.

Flop c/r was big, but his bet was pathetic, so I was making up for that ...

I was pretty happy with my turn/river play. I don't think he has a boat here much at all, as he will 3bet the flop if he has a set most times.

As it turned out my read was kinda wrong. He is a passive station type, but not so nitty maybe.

He had QT and paid me off, which was the plan.

Villain is very aggro, final tabled EPT London ME a couple of weeks ago.

He needs to learn not to bluff a calling station tho.

Also, 17650 vpps in March.

I think that may be my biggest monthly total, which is kinda weird as I don't think I played the volume I normally do.

Possibly zoom 200 running regularly over the last couple of weeks may having something to do with the appalling amount of rake I must have paid ...

I agree with you! The ****ty part of it is, I like to smoke though! I hate everything about it even down to the politics, but I enjoy having a smoke. I think that is going to be the hardest part about quitting. Also I hate getting up from the poker table to have a smoke losing out on possible value just to sit back down at the table smelling like an ash tray to whomever is sitting around me... I smoke and even I find that gross. But most of all I'm 26 and I've been smoking for 11+ years now and if I don't quit... well bad things will happen most likely haha. Send me a PM and let me know how you went about it the insight will help I'm sure.

There have been studies to show that if you quite smoking around the age of 30 after a while your lungs will recover as if you never smoked before. Obviously assuming you've never done anything major like got a tumour, etc.

There's a bit of inspiration for you to quit soon

Interesting. Maybe minraises are the same at that level then, i was thinking small PP or SCs initially.

Would you mind explaining briefly why the guys think 3bet is better otf? I've been doing a lot of research into 3betting recently. I agree if this was an LP steal but as it's from EP we can't really make judgement on how he'll play anything given our limited knowledge. Plus if he has an Axs type hand we wanna keep that in, not just fold it out imo. If he calls our 3bet we're oop without any info on him which is kinda crappy in a raised pot, esp if he's still around otr and we don't have the nuts

Giraffes for March then. Ups and downs.

The up is at Stars, 5nl - 10nl BR now around $250ish

The down is on William Hill (Ipoker). 10nl - 5nl. Sick

Goals for April:
[ ] Get me RB payment at Will Hill and cashout (ldo!)
[ ] Stick to what I do best, Stars Zoom
[ ] Don't worry about volume/winnings, it's all about the decision making
[ ] Stop playing when I'm not on my A game
[ ] Keep watching vids and studying concepts
[ ] Post more hands and comment more in BQ and Micros forums

Have a good April everyone!!

OK, posted this in the March thread but I'll post it again.
First month playing 5NL.

Got bonuses to clear in April.
Need to grind them out without losing the equivalent
Hopefully start winning at 5NL.

Is that a month playing 5nl? Volume seems to small.

Anyway doing a fun grind up the micros after my shot at hypers went horribly wrong. Going to grind through 2nl 8 tabling. Then 4-6 table 5nl and for 10nl I will probably start having to work on my game so may cut down the tables completely. Hopefully be at 10nl by the end of the month assuming I don't run bad and get some good volume in.

BR - ~$40 (after my first session)

As I explained in the March thread when I originally posted it, I stopped in the middle of the month for maybe a week.
And I did play some 2NL Zoom, but only a couple of 1000 hands.

That's pretty much the volume I play, I'm afraid, I doubt I'd top 15k hands in a full month.

Ha ha yeah that's right, with a Santa hat at Christmas obviously!

Decided new year was time for taking it more seriously, so needed a 'serious' avatar.

Imho Gamma needs to step up as well. No avatar at all. For a small stakes baller and respected poster I think that's outrageous

April is 5NL month

If I can get a $75 profit I will move up to 10NL again

I think I'll keep 6-tabling, and if I play 10 hours per week I should get 25k hands, so 6bb/100 as a winrate should be do-able.

It's March 31st. I didn't realise it was gone midnight when I posted that haha.

March was cool, I love running $150 under EV in cash games and further below in SNGs...

Still profited though and I guess that's enough.

Goals for April:

[ ] 30k hands
[ ] 100 9-man turbo SNGs
[ ] Either get some grinding done on my stake or manage to finish it prematurely. Just absolutely no desire to play on **** software after playing on Stars now.
[ ] (will probably come as a result of the first one) Retain GoldStar
[ ] Shot-take 50NL when I hit $1k BR
[ ] Stop being such a f fish
