Fancied hand
NLH 2/4
SB-KdJs (50$)
BB-Ac8c (50$)
PF Pot 8$
Flop: Kc 6h 2c 55%/45%
SB bets 12$.BB raises 12$ (call 12 + bet 12$).SB all-in.
EV(SB)=44$*0.55 - 34$*0.45= +8.9$
BB: Pot (after SB all-in) 78$. To call 22$.
22/78 or according to Rounder's book 22% < 45%. Either of them have +EV? Both make money on the distance? I understand that BB should lose chips for a long run but how about his +EV? Positive action - but still negative result?
beyond me.

I don't quite understand the question. Is it in regards to the final call for BB? If so - the overlay in the pot makes this a profitable (therefore correct) call for BB even though BB is a dog equity wise.

Welcome to the Forums!

In answer to your question, it often happens that there are situations where both the bettor and caller are making +EV plays. When this happens, the bettor is making a +EV play because he is betting for value (when he is called, he is a favorite), and the caller is making a +EV play because he has the odds to call. This happens more often in limit poker than no limit due to the small size of the bet in relation to the size of the pot. Usually it happens in no limit when the pot is big and the caller has good equity.
