Its hard to get away from that. The only way you could, imo, is if you knew he was really tight player. Its hard to consider 33 55 or 77 with his 3-bet. Variance sucks sometimes

He did 4bet which is a pretty clear indication but would it ever make sense to lay it down?

He could have pocket 9's to j's for all I know.

I felt like I should have laid it down.

Is he tight/loose? Do you have PF numbers on him, and have you seen him 3bet/4bet before?

No, I just sat down and started playing with him for maybe 10-13 hands. Perhaps I should've waited until I had more info on him.

Nah its cool, you can only go with what u know. You can't really fold PF, can't fold on that flop when the guy's range includes AK. If you have him figured as 4betting only AA/KK, then you can definitely fold PF, but as a default AK & QQ+ works good as a range.

Against unknown this is AOK except you should just stack off preflop, for two reasons - charge him to see a flop, and on certain flops like AKx a hand like JJ which would have stacked preflop will get scared off.
