Was all-in my best move? Was all-in my best move?

40-80 blinds, 1$ tournament 90 plyrs

UTG +2 (1700) limps
Everybody folds
Hero (2000) bb with 6s 7s and checks.

flop comes

3h 6d 6h

Hero checks
Villain bets 80
Hero raises to 400
Villain calls

Turn 4c

At this point im 0 worried about the straight. To me he has a flush draw, ace high if i had too guess since he was utg limping but the ace isn't good considering my hand. Im pretty sure im gonna fold a river heart so I move all-in. Villain calls and show Ah 2h.

River Qh

Standart bad beat or should I just bet 2/3 or full pot? I feel I lose a lot of my "i got a read and im ahead so I overbet".

Your raise on the flop of 400 seems a bit big. You're lucky he called you there with just a flush draw. I would have slow-played the trips, but that's just me. Not sure if the all-in was inappropriate. Your reasoning that you wanted him out of the hand and unable to catch a heart on the river seems sounds.

imo you just got unlucky if u play this 10 times ud prolly win 6-7 times so u kinda made the right play i guess, only thing i wouldve done different is , i wouldve kept the pot smaller, because in MTTs i prefer not to put my stack in at the beginning rounds unless i have the absolute nuts, i wouldve prolly raised him to 160, then 400 ish, then 600 wouldve cost u half ur stack, but if he reraised u couldve figured he had the flush, which u obv saw coming kinda, so maybe an even smaller raise on the river or if ur really really sure he has a flush just give up there, u took a chance, and got unlucky, but you made the right play, and hes obviously not a winning player if he calls an all in on turn with 9ish outs? so ye, unlucky i say..

Totally standard. Well played IMO. You forced him to make a mistake, which he did twice, and you got unlucky.

On second look, you completely overbet the pot on the turn. ~800 in pot, betting 1500 is a little much. Make it 600 and get it in on the river. At that point you have to shove any river because he's so committed.

I prefer lead flop and check/call flop to check/raise flop ... unless villain is known to limp big to biggish pairs and doesn't limp a whole lot of hands overall. Check/raise looks pretty strong and there's not much he can have.

As near as I can tell you're shoving like 1300 into like an 800 pot on the turn. Not really much wrong with this but I'd prefer to just split it up a little more between the turn and the river. I'm always getting all-in though. Maybe like 550 on the turn and then 750 into the 1950 pot on the river.

Whatever shoving the turn is pretty fine too.
