I recently registered myself with pokerstars and I deposited $20 using my sisters credit card and as soon as I played my first hand I got a message saying account is frozen and then I get an email asking me to provide a lot of documents and to fill a form as well.o have no problem in doing so but the thing is I'm currently living in japan and my sister is in the uk I easily got her details over the call and another thing she has a different surname coz she changed her's after marriage
Please if someone has had the same problem in the past and managed to successfully get his account back pls advice what can be done
Thanx

Have you tried sending in your details + mentioning what you said to us above and asking how to rectify the situation?

Your sister's going to have to email Stars about it, they're not going to ask you to prove who's card it is.

I did send them all the docs and they reply asking for the same stuff again

Dear Tahir,

Thank you for your email and for providing some of these documents. Regrettably, some of the documentation cannot be accepted. Please provide to us:

-A copy of the completed Verification Form. (This must include the card number in the space provided and also be signed by the card holder. The signature must match that of the card holder)
-A copy of a recent Bank Statement for your card ending 09
-A copy of your Government Issued Photo Identification (We are unable to accept copies of previously photo copied documents).
-A copy of a recent utility bill or bank statement that confirms your name and residential address as registered in your account.

We thank you for your understanding and hope to hear from you soon.

^^

Money laundering regs mate. No shortcuts, just give them exactly what they ask for and it'll get done. Don't give them what they ask for and it won't.

It really is that black and white.

Give them what they asked for. Not what you think they want or what you want to give. There is an explicit list of acceptable docs so provide them. Most of us here have provided stars with the required docs and have had no problems with them whatsoever.

Grabbing some popcorn and sitting back waiting to see how this develops...

- Has a problem with provider
- Asks provider how to resolve problem
- Provider explains how to resolve problem

Solution?

- Instead of resolving it, ask unrelated people how to resolve problem

Seems like too much hassle for $20.

Let it go and open a legit PS acct using your own bank.

The key is that you can't play online poker in Japan, just like in the US. That's why he used his sister's credit card and address from the UK.

OP, you owe your sister $20. You're not going to see the money back.

Yes, illegal to play online in Japan.

However:
(1) Has not been enforced
(2) All online poker is offshore and Japan doesn't block the sites.

(venice...guess I was too subtle)
