Is 8 AM - 18 PM (GMT) regfest? Is 8 AM - 18 PM (GMT) regfest?

Hello,

I am 24 years old and I live in Eastern Europe (GMT+2). I've been playing poker on and off for the last 3-4 years, and I currently play 5-25NL Zoom, 10-25NL regtables and MTTs up to $11, all on PokerStars. I am currently crushing 5NL and 10NL but I am a marginal winner at 25NL. I did quite well in the MTT field also but I'm not a huge fan of the swings involved.

My problem is that I don't like staying awake late at night (4AM GMT) in order to play the juicyest games, but on the other hand, I've tried playing morning hours and I feel the reg to fish ratio is not remotely close to this ratio in the evenings and late nights.

Recently I did a lot of thinking and I can't seem to find a balance between "healthy living" and poker winning.

I know this has been discussed here but this is not exactly the answer I'm looking for (I think I have an idea about best grinding hours)

What I would really like to know is what do you guys suggest I should play during the day ? I'm open to suggestions, and I would also like to know if you think it would be a good idea to play on other poker rooms other than PS.eu

Thanks

I'm in the US and I pretty much only grind during the daytime. Plenty of idiot fish and terrible regs splashing about. I'd imagine its the same on Stars at the micros.

Isn't US time GMT-4 (for east cost) or GMT-7 for (west coast) ?

It means that if you grind during daytime it may be late in the evening in EU. Also I'm not sure how much Bovada resembles Pokerstars.

Work on getting better rather than trying to find easier games.

This post is meaningless because you're in a different time zone. Anywhere from 5 to 8 hours behind GMT.

Well thanks, I've heard (&read) this numerous times but anyway I still beat 10NL during the day but for like 25% of my winrate during the night so I feel like my time is not worth it

There is a difference but not as significant as weekday/weekend.

You need to be gentle and understand that the USA grasp of timezone differences is east coast v west coast USA. My favourite personal example was getting a call from a project manager on my mobile (cell phone for you USA'ians) wondering why I wasn't at my desk responding to her emails, she guessed I was probably out at lunch and wanted me to talk to a customer immediately. It was 2am :/

Don't necessarily agree with this.

OP, what are you playing for? Money, fun, or to be the best player there is?

It's easier to build a roll away from Stars at the micros in Europe as other sites are a lot fishier and your winrate will be significantly higher to account for the higher rake.

If you wanna be the best then you've just gotta work harder on your game and figure out the weaknesses of the pool at the limit your playing. Depends what you wanna get out of it.

Fwiw I find mornings and evenings are both pretty fishy, even on Stars

Stop being ******ed and read between the lines. My point was regardless of where he lives and the time zone he's in, it shouldn't be difficult to find games with bad players no matter the time of day on pretty much any site.

Bit harsh, given you're in the States, where presumably the online environment is totally different to Europe.

I read all the time how much the online playing pool is much harder now that back 7-8 years ago, so it seem popular opinion has playing pools changing dynamically all the time.

I do play on Stars and without doubt the fishiness levels rise and fall dramatically on different days and at different times...so I'm confused as to where you are going with your post????

Also Op seems to be doing OK, so not sure why he needs lectures about table selection.

OP Get Collin Moshmans STT book and give those a go. They tend to be fishy at all levels up to $15 esp in the max fish hours, which you already know.

I thought about giving SNGs a shot but from what I've heard, hypers are where the fishes are nowadays and to be honest, the swing in hyperturbo SNGs are comparable to MTT swings (well maybe not really, but still huge swings compared to cashgames)

Thanks for the suggestion Fatboy54

I'm playing for money and fun equally, as to be the best player there is, not so much (yet )

As I'm currently overroled even for 25NL I'm thinking about splitting my bankroll in two ways : PokerStars and an Euro site, yet to be determined
