Is this a value betting situation?

Seventeen hands on villain, 35/0/14, obviously not much to go on.

Full Tilt Poker $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

SB: $5.26
Hero (BB): $5.00
UTG: $15.89
UTG+1: $4.22
UTG+2: $5.29
MP1: $5.00
MP2: $5.34
CO: $5.35
BTN: $5.03

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with Q 6
UTG calls $0.05, 7 folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.12) 4 Q A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.10, UTG calls $0.10

My initial thought was "got something here, not great, better bet to make playing it easier, I'll bail if I get rr'd at any point.

As for the value aspect, maybe I put villain a slightly narrower range, 28% or so due to position? I figure plenty of hands are coming along by virtue of not giving me credit here.

Turn: ($0.32) T (2 players)
Hero bets $0.20, UTG calls $0.20

Same logic here, lots of smaller pairs figuring I'm trying to take them off a pot. I'm actually giving about 30% odds villain is on Ax or a Q better than mine, 40% odds villain is on a hand that utterly missed given the limp and 30% chance of seeing a sm-med pocket pair.

How's my line/logic here?

I like to start off here by check/calling flop and be looking to let him bluff. Really isn't anything he can have that you beat and he will call with.

its a kind of thin value bet because the no.1 most common hand for people to be limping with is Ax.

its better to fire out thin value bets when you are in position, oop vs passive opponents you are generally better off checking rather than bloating the pot.

You don't see 22-JJ coming along for a ride here given I'm in the SB?

Or KJ, JT or 32?

BTW, thanks for the reply, Lego.

Yea KJ and JT will probably call once (maybe twice). I don't really think this guy has 32 in his pre-flop range. I think he folds the smaller pairs on the flop a lot and maybe calls with some of the bigger ones though he may raise like JJ and TT pre-flop. I think in this spot giving him a chance to bluff will work out better.

FWIW I'd put out a bet with like 76s on the flop here a lot.

With an eye toward check/calling and not check/folding, yes?

What bet sizing do you consider rational enough to warrant a call here?

Thanks Jack!

OOP against an unknown in a limped pot, im just c/f

I think its pretty thin...I bet the flop. C/f to aggression

OOP, I would've folded middle pair, weak kicker after he floated the flop. The check-call was okay though.
