5nl shots failed :( 5nl shots failed :(

Well i plugged some leaks and finnaly beat 2nl. Now my 3rd shot at 5nl has failed.

It feels like a massive difference at 5nl i even felt more comfortable at 25nl when i used to play that. Seems lots of slowplaying hands going on and i've never seen so many monsters hitting me over and over.

Some hands were unlucky like boat over boats lol, but some i also fell right into a trap.

Anyone have any tips at 5nl? (zoom 6max)

Rebuild at 2nl and don't move up all in one shot. Add the best available 5nl table and after a few hundred hands you will recognize Vs at other tables you want to play. Eventually all your tables will be 5nl. edit: also stop playing zoom in the micros imo

How many hands did you accumulate at 5NL?

I 2-table Zoom 6max 5NL and it seems pretty similar to 2NL.

In re the HH, 5-bet jam. What's with the 5-bet waiting for a 6-bet at standard 100bb stacks? Especially as you are playing <100bb.

As for OP, I have a piece of string in my hand, how long do you think it is? This is kind of like the question you are asking. 5NL does play a bit differently to 2NL but nothing drastic. Have you reviewed your HEM / PT? By position? By hand strength on the river? Where are you losing $? What do you do to work on your game?

Edit: If it feels like monsters are hitting you over and over again it may be a case of you are stacking off too weak post flop.

There is obviously nothing wrong with getting all in with AA, but you will never bluff that size with 100bb so don't value raise that size.

Also its a bad beat. Learn from you poor preflop sizing and move on.

What's with the 7-bet pre play with <100bb stacks? When it's raised to 2.00 just shove.

Edit: I couldn't be bothered crunching the numbers right now but there is a point where the pot gets large enough that it becomes a mistake for vil to fold rather than call, I don't think 3.00 would be too far off that point with a 4.24 effective stack.

Because you played it like a massive fish with your bet sizing. For that reason alone, you deserved to lose the hand.

I did 4-5 nl5 shots in order to manage to become an nl5 reg now I'm in the 3rd nl10 shot xD.
In my opinion beating nl2 is not the same as beating nl5 but you are not gonna learn if you don't put enough volume in nl5 and find your leaks. my biggest problem was bet sizing and position 2 things irrelevant in nl2 so you just have to work hard on your game and stick to your brm

It sucks but don't get discouraged. I had 5nl beat with a wr of 19bb/100 and my 10nl shots failed back to back to back... 3 times. It was annoying because I knew I could beat those stakes, and having to grind out more shots in 5nl was boring and unsatisfying. It is comforting to know that you have guaranteed money though when you drop back down stakes, and that thought alone takes the tilt away. Just gotta keep firing shots until one gets through. Sometimes the first shot you take will be enough to break through, other times not. My fourth shot finally worked and I'm out of that circus.

OP should never be 5-bet bluffing preflop anyway. It really makes little difference how much hero raises at that point. Anyway, it looks like somehow hero managed to reel the villain in to going all in with a terrible hand. Maybe villain thought he had fold equity or something weird. All the same imo. Bad beat is a bad beat.
