Why shove? What worse hands are you trying to make call? What better hands are you trying to make fold?

Don't necessarily have to shut down just because of the 3rd diamond, could have bet $1-$1.20. If he called think you should definately try and check behind on the 4th diamond.

Also I'd probably raise this more preflop, you want to push out some of those limpers and to stop people limping in behind you.

Sorry to post another hand but I didn't want to make another thread and it has to do with shoving again anyhow

edit: @ jagghund Ya I agree I should have raised more preflop since people will call with pretty marginal hands after just limping before. I shoved because because his vpip was 40% but on second thought it was pretty dumb

Considering your stack size with the AK, the shove isn't bad here. You have to expect MP2 to look you up for 1.39 more, though. If he flopped a pat flush, he has 2 of your outs, but he could be raising with something like KQ as well.

Reload when you get below the table max.

please raise, 4bb+1 per limper, or 3.5 bb+1per limper, yr gonna let ppl in, and u shud bet harder on flop to push ppl off, u have the best hand most of the time, u can prevent OESD from drawing too!

@Navie
are you talking about betting more on the flop with the first hand? I bet pot (.45) , isn't that pretty normal? How much should I bet then to get people off draws ?

Hand 1, note that due to pot sizes vs stack sizes, you can expect action if you shove. In the case of a set vs a flush, you need to see if you have pot odds to draw to a full house. I regard the possibiliy of a flush as "likely" due to the huge number of callers.

Hand 2, re-raise the A-K please preflop. MP raises, button with A-K must re-raise unless MP is the tightest player in the world. As for the flop, if I have top pair or overpair and 4-nut flush on the flop, and the flop is not paired, the question I am asking is "how do I get them to put all their money in?" ... In this case there's a chance the raiser has KK or AA but that's why we re-raise him preflop...

If you want hand advice I really wouldnt post it in the beginners forum. Some of the responses i've just read are terrible. Pretty straight forward hand, 7 of diamonds is a pretty bad turn card but i would get it in at 2NL here.
