I've been playing roughly 5 years in my spare time and have had periods of taking poker seriously and periods where I haven't played for 6 months or so. Basically this money is everything i've managed to make in that time which seems pretty sad really. I am mainly a cash game player 50/1 and 1/2 and play a few live tournaments occasionally and some online. I've made the transition to live over the last 2 years and think I can beat the 1/1 and 1/2 games but it seems like a very slow process and the games aren't always good.

I have just been offered a job and am going back to work after 8 months away so lots of thoughts have been going through my mind.

I have thought about maybe just keeping that roll set aside for poker and playing recreationally well within my bankroll and trying to make a little here and there. I have also thought about having one last trip to vegas and basically taking a shot with the entire thing (not in a single game) but maybe playing some 2/5 and 5/10 and some deepstack tournaments with the idea being it's a last shot at the title type thing.

I just feel like I always wanted to get to a place in poker where I could play in good games where the money actually made a difference to my life, but it's not easy, poker is never easy. Some days you are the bug some days you are the windshield etc. I just feel like I have an arkward stack size to do anything meaningful and was wondering if anyone had any advice.

One of my friends said cashout eat drink and be merry for a month or two, but i'm more conservative in nature and would like to still be in the game.

Cash out $2k and buy yourself something nice. Keep $10k in a specific account for bankroll, and play events because you would like to or think would be fun. Staking people could be rewarding too. Take a shot at some $1500 bracelet events next year.

Keep playing recreationally, make a career and keep a roll of 10k. On the 1st of the month withdraw anything over the 10k and treat yourself or put it aside until you have enough to take a shot at a tournament like a 1.5k wsop. Lose your patience and you will more than likely lose it all.

Buy a 4-wheeler and have some fun. Play poker and build the bank roll back up. Hookers really love a man with a 4-wheeler (and some blow).

Cashout a bit and treat yourself to something nice then keep the rest for poker. And no 12k in that time is nothing to be sad about you used your time to play a game you enjoy and made money in the meantime, I doubt many people can say the same.
