Which blackjack game to play? Which blackjack game to play?

Live offers 3:2 DAS, no surrender, multi-splits, H17.
Machine offers 3:2 DAS single card, single split, surrender, H17.

Live uses 8 decks, machine uses 6 decks. Unsure of shuffle method on the machine at this point. Assuming they both shuffle with 2 remaining decks, do I have more advantage at one over the other?

It looks like if the machine offers early surrender, it may be the better choice.

In pretty much every blackjack book, there is a chart on the +/- of each rule. I don't have access to one right now, but I would rather have surrender than multi-split. In my experience, I have 16 against T and other nasty hands much more often than a chance to split twice or more.

According to http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/ho...alculator.html

Live: 0.69928%
Machine: 0.52741% (late surrender)

So, machine is, in fact, better.

1. Early surrender is rare. Double check to make sure it isn't late surrender. If, in fact, it is early surrender, I'm pretty sure early surrender will dominate the calculation as to which is more profitable. It's one of the absolute best non-promotional rules that's available.

2. Why would a machine use 6 decks? Shouldn't it just use an infinite deck?

Probably to comfort gamblers who fear things they can't understand. An infinite deck is only 0.1% higher house edge than 6 decks anyway. You can easily change some other rule to alter the house edge that amount.

2nd option only because of surrender. Man, your live options suck. The last time I checked, our rules were 3:2 DAS, early surrender, multi split, H17. And depending on the casino you go to, it can be hand shuffle or cont shuffle.

There are two types of Early Surrender.

True Early Surrender has been relegated to antiquity.
Early Surrender against the Ten [not the Ace] exists.

p.s. Anyone who trusts an online game too be honest
would do well to cultivate a healthy degree of skepticism.

Find a machine that uses 1 deck. They exist.
