Any interesting roulette stories? Any interesting roulette stories?

I was just wondering if anyone has any stories of epic runs or epic ruin they would like to share. I am a winning poker player and have calmed down now, but at one point I had a huge roulette addiction. I'll share a couple.

Last summer was my first time in vegas. I went to play the series and met up with a friend of mine. I got a room at the rio and he had one downtown at a casino called El Cortez. After a few days of great plo wins, I decided to gamble on some roulette. I win about 1k at the Rio and my friend asks me to come with him back to his room and to check out this old school casino. It's kind of cool to think of how old it is but ultimately, it's a pretty gross old casino.

While there I decided to play some roulette and ride my heater. The wheels here are a lot older than most casinos and they have like 5 running at one time. Anyway, I sit down and bet blacks on the outside. Odd, even, red, black etc. On my first spin some total degen comes and bets a stack of chips (min buy is .25 at this casino lol) on the number 22. I bet 200 on black. 22 hits. We all get paid. Well degen is telling me how I must bet 22 asap bc it's coming again. Anyway, I throw a 25 chip on top of his mountain and what do ya know? 22 again and a $900 payday. Degen starts throwing his .25 chips and $5 chips on 22 again. So this time I throw a black on it. And bingo, hits 22 once again. There is a crowd forming and the pit boss comes over. I cash out and watch the last spin...the ball floats and lands in 22 AGAIN. Croupier calls a floater and pit boss announces last spin. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen at a roulette table.

Funny thing was at the cage, they called the pit for me to cash out 5500 in chips and told me they had to confirm the blacks. Must have been the biggest roulette hit they'd taken in a while.

Another time, I busted from a Venetian Deepstack on the bubble AKss to AA, button to BB. I was so tilted I threw 6 blacks on 6 numbers, 5 ,14,17, 20, 23, 35 and 20 hit. I then took the 3500 from the the hit and contemplated whether or not to put 200 on the same 6 numbers or just bet it all and leave if i won. I decided to go ahead and bet it all on 19-36. It hit 14, on of the numbers I had previously put $100 on.

My first big Vegas Roulette score was at MGM grand ten years ago.

Just got back from the club with my friends, and walked past the Roulette station with about $100 in my pocket.

I asked for $1 chips and then the dealer informed me that this was a $50 minumum table, $5 denomination chips and greater only. I said fine, whatever, give me a stack of red.

This was one of the first times I gambled on the european wheel with the single 0. So, I looked at the 0 and just bet all the numbers that were physically around the 0 like 0, 32, 35, 26, 15, 3, 12, 19

and boom, he hit 0 and I win $350 (had $10 on zero). I bet the same section and he hits 32, another $350. For some reason I thought my birthday would hit (which is the opposite side of the wheel) so I switched my bets and now bet around my birthday but this time with $25 chips, and boom, hits for $875. I go back to the zero with $25 chips (putting $75 on 0) and boom 0 hits I win around $2800.

So I say "F it" and now i'm betting 7 black chips around zero with one on zero and a 0 - 3 split and at the last minute I decide to throw 2 more black chips on 0.

BOOM MF ZERO HITS. I win around $12K. Overall at this point, i'm up about $15K and won all these bets in a row!!! I press my bet, betting about $3K around the zero with $1K straight up on the zero and the ball bounces right in the ZERO!!!.... then bounces out of it, catches the rail, and rolls all the way to the other side of the wheel and drops into my birthday.

I take that as a sign to go, grab my $12K and cashed out.

The pit boss introduces me to the Executive VIP host who upgrades my room to a suite with a great view of the strip and me and my crew had nothing but free comps for the rest of the trip.

Soon as I woke up next day, I headed to the bank and deposited $10K

The other $2K I ended up winning and losing back and forth at least fifteen times over the next two days. I also got use of a limo and we headed out to the strip clubs like a bunch of ballers before hitting up the normal clubs. That was a great trip. Left Vegas $10K up

After playing BJ at Harveys Inn in Tahoe, I color up to $500's and have about $400 in change. I go to the wheel, turn the change into quarters, and play a single spin star around the 5, 7, and 11, with an extra quarter on the 5. The house has some ridiculously low maximum payout -- like $350 -- so, the pit turns the limit sign over and motions the dealer to proceed. I hit the 5 for 138 checks -- and I ask the dealer to color-up the payoff, as I wasn't intending to play roulette all night. The best the dealer has is 100's, and the pit says he'll get a fill -- so as I'm counting the payoff to color again, waiting for the next spin. The dealer spins and hits 5 again. At this time I notice that the dealer had taken down my bets. This is something a roulette dealer should NEVER do -- and I'm pissed. You can guess where that got me. This is a break-in dealer, the pit agrees with me -- but what can they do? I get it. But I'm still pissed. That was memorable.

Another time I'm at the Riverside in Reno, during the winter, on graveyard -- and they're running a 10c wheel with a 50c minimum -- AND serving drinks. There's ten dealers, two bartenders, a waitress, and the shift manager -- we're the only two customers. So my friend and I sit down at the wheel, just to mess with the house playing 10c stakes, keep the bartenders busy, and see if we could win the dealers some zooks. We each bought in for a $10 -- in dimes -- five stacks. The game began -- and we simply could not lose. In a short time we had a separate color just for the dealers bets. We played all night, ran them out of colors, colored up, made it to dollars -- and got blind drunk. When we left, we were up about $300. Later, the dealers told me that they had locked up about $1,800. That was a good night.

At harrahs new orleans for the WSOP, I busted at a FT early on a bad beat and went directly to roulette. My friend busted the 1k on a terrible beat too and was stuck 4k @ bj. I bought in 1k and was down to just a single black. I ran it into 4900 in about 7 spins. I then brought my friend and some random homeless guy who lived in the casino to a 300 dollar dinner.

An hour later, we stop by the wheel and proceed to lose the 4600 plus 2k more in about 30 mins. This trip made me quit playing roulette.

Gambling is all about high-highs and low-lows -- that's why I've always tried to avoid gambling. OTOH -- some of the most entertaining times I've ever had -- the highest highs -- are when I put some of the bankroll into a gamble. Sometimes there's just no figuring where you'll end up or who you'll meet.

last summer i went on a casino boat and after loosing a couple hands on blackjack(5 min and didnt want to blow my whole roll 100ish) we decide to get the roulette table open as no one else was playing(also 5 min)

i started playing and winning a bit brought my 30 up to like 120 and along the way my friend won one of the 1-12 bets and the dealer who barely knew where the numbers on the layout were gave his win to me in my color by accident and gave him his

this dealer was so dumb and was getting yelled at by the pit boss bc of his horrible abilitys. We all won i think so it was a fun night

the dealers all sucked horribly though

Walking through the Mirage once, I saw two tables side-by-side. One had a sign for "American Roulette" and was full of people. The other was called "European Roulette" and was completely empty.

I asked the croupier at the European (single 0) table why everyone would play the other table. He shrugged his shoulder and said "I guess they are more used to the American version"

I never play roulette probably only twice prior to this story and have not played it since. I was at a Jazz concert, bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding. Show was not too exciting but I was wasted on Jack Daniels and Mogadons (downer) after the show I wonder into the casino. Now the details fail me and I have really no recollection of what I did but when I woke up I had 24,000 in my pocket. I was like what the f+ck what happened. My friend calls

My friend said they found me in the casino at the baccarat table after I lost my chips they were trying to get me to leave. But by the entrance/exit is the roulette wheel. Apparantly I pull out 200 and hit black 8times in a row rolling my bets. Tip the dealer and leave.

I was at Bellagio and had busted out for the day and was just being a bit of a railbird. So I was walking through the casino on my way out when I noticed a roulette wheel that was just getting crazy action.

There were a couple of whales there betting about $5K - $15K per bet on black.

Now, the funny thing was that the wheel tracker showed that Red had come up five times in a row. Of course, they are convincing themselves that it will have to come up black on the next spin.

So they, (Along with 8 other people at the table) bet black.

The wheel hits red for the sixth time.

Next spin, everyone bets black again (easily $30K+ worth of bets).

The wheel hits red for the seventh time...

I stayed and watched while the wheel hit red 19 times in a row!!!!

Players are yelling and screaming about there being some kind of electronics or magnets controlling the ball and the pit boss is assuring them that is not the case...

that dealer ended up busting everyone.

The other thing I thought was funny is how no one wanted to bet red despite how often it kept coming up. Sure, the math says red and black are no different. But, if the wheel keeps coming up red, why not just bet red?

not sure if being Asian helps your gambling. People are people.

FWIW, they were mostly European and Mediterrean IIRC.

not saying it helps your gambling. maybe its a psychological/cultural thing

I think we are more inclined to say keep betting red cause its lucky than to say bet black because its due to turn up.

6 sittings of roulette for 6 profits..
[x] running good

Usually whack a 4 bets on black.
Single bets on 3 corners, 2 of which have 3 black/1 red and one has 2 red/2 black.
Single bet on a number which isn't on one of the selected corners (usually 20 or 23).
If I lose a few times, double the bets.

Obv its still -ev but having a bit of fun at the table it is a ok way to have a shot at having a win or atleast getting some legs out of your money

In 2004, Ashley Revell of London sold all of his possessions, clothing included, and brought US$135,300 to the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas and put it all on "Red" at the roulette table in a double-or-nothing bet. The ball landed on "Red 7" and Revell walked away with his net-worth doubled to $270,600

It was real. The Plaza simply understood that they couldn't buy that much publicity for $135K -- so it was a win/win. If they lost, they got the publicity. If they won, it wasn't really a human interest story any longer -- and they got to keep the money.

First time I was in vegas, I went busto and had about 500 in my pocket planning on coming home with minimum $ 400. I walk up to the roulette for the first time in my life and I see the ball spinning, I put a black 100 chip on the 14 and like 3 seconds after I placed the bet, BOOM it comes 14. I was really nervous I wasn't going to get payed and I didn't even really know what the pay out structure was but the lady paid me and I booked out of that joint. Have never ever played since though. I like the idea of bragging about being up in a game.

The dealer wouldn't have tipped him if he'd lost.

On a one-shot bet like this... I see no need to tip the dealer.
