Does anyone else think that the #1 seat is the best seat in 3-Card? I haven't played it much, but every time I do, #1 is always getting the best hands...

It is. The house edge you find on websites is based on the #4 seat, since that's the exact middle of the table. It's just an average - the closer to #1 the better, and to #7 the worse.

Whichever seat gives you the best view of the dealer's hole card is the best one.

I don't have any idea about seating position in 3 card game. I think you need to read any book on which proper strategies about this game are mentioned. You can easily get those types of books on the internet which gives you complete knowledge about 3 card game.

Only will play 3card poker in California as there is an upcard from the dealer...

The shuffle master machines do not spit the cards out in order, they are grouped into 3 and then randomly spit out... I dont think it matters...

Although it has happened to me a couple of times were someone either sits down infront of me and takes my hand or gets up so my hand goes to the dealer. They were trips or straight flushes... So I sit in first position just so the players coming and going dont tilt me...

3-card poker is becoming one of the most popular new table game, it is played with single deck of 52 cards. It is two games in one and the house edge you find is in #4 seat.

also depends on whether or not the house uses a shuffle machine.

If the house uses a shuffle machine, then it adds 0.5% to the player's edge in seat #1.

But if you ask the dealer to scramble before placing cards in the shuffle machine, it increases your edge for that hand by 3%, so you should always ask for a scramble as many times as possible.

Only thing better than a scramble is a set-up change. A new deck gives you an additional 5% in edge but decreases 0.025% each time it is shuffled. We can negate this degradation to some extent by asking for scrambles...

No one can "take" your hand from the first seat. The mental ev gained from that beats the well the cards are random argument.
