Thanks but yeah, it's really just the latter, the lack of multiquotes. If you've ever read Hocus Pocus by Vonnegut, I post like that. And I've yet to hear a compelling argument that we're gonna run out of word rectangles to use.

THANK YOU !!

The trolls worship me and want to be me. That’s the most important thing to remember. They come here and give time out of their finite lives as an offering at the Altar of thier god LIMON.

At the poker table I am 100% untiltable. Nothing anyone does can change the way I’m gonna play my game. I will act tilted often to “commiserate” with losing players. It’s very bad business to be outwardly emotionless even if you’re laughing about all the emotional crap you see on the inside. The first step to being untiltable is really not knowing or caring how much you are up or down as it pertains to whether to end your session. Once the concept of “stuck” becomes as laughable to you as “lucky seat” or “unlucky dealer” you will become untiltable. Your view will become very long and small **** that is happening won’t matter at all to you.

A sincere question deserves a sincere answer. I get invited to more golf rounds, dinners and happy hours than I could ever attend or want to attend so I guess I have a lot of friends. I see my poker friends at the casino golf buddy’s at the golf course and foodie friends at nice dinners. Most of these worlds overlap a little. But mostly I’d rather just do nothing and futz around the house with my dog hunting gophers or something. I’m functionally retired and have been since 2010.

lol. lose live at the bike? you must have been listening to a homeless looking lying miserable limit holdem shitreg. hahahahahah.

my partner and i at the bike decided to go different directions, i was paid my portion of the profits of the company for one year after i left (for doing nothing) and then sold my shares at a huge profit. everyone was happy and I moved on. It actually worked out as a dream scenario for me because i sold to poker players and ended up with a bunch of errrrr ummmmm "poker money" how do i say this, money that was made for crypto hahaha, and so i had a bunch of it in 2017. Anyone know what happened to those prices??? #BlessedLife

I agree. Can't stand nerdy types who act like it is business, regardless of their effects on fish.

The money is real and as such, winning money makes me feel good and losing money makes me feel bad. Money represents what I can buy with it and I am not in a position yet where I have sufficient money to do all I wish. For example, I wish to reforest the planet and that will cost more money than I currently have. I feel good when I approach that objective, and my other objectives, and bad when I distance from them, even though I also understand there is short term variance in poker despite skill prevailing over a sufficient sample of hands at a given limit.

The question regarding poker for me is whether I am enjoying the game and whether I have anything better to do in that moment. If I am not or do, I tend not to stay long.

My enjoyment is correlated with whether I am winning but also affected by factors such as the temperament of the other players, whether I am tired, cold, hot, etc.

I used to maximize my poker time, regardless of enjoyment, and this is much better.

I am fortunate to be in a position to treat poker as such and fortunate in my life generally, but I can't take full credit because despite my efforts and sacrifices, I am lucky to have been born with intelligence, good health, and a caring family, and to have encountered good teachers who prepared me to face life successfully.

Despite my personal good fortune, I don't dismiss the suffering of those who have not been as fortunate, nor the concerns I have regarding the forthcoming collapse of this economy.

Hi Limon, I first became aware of you from the early deuces cracked Bart H podcast interviews. I believe you recorded them at the Commerce. At the time I was feeling trapped in my Proffessional career, had gone through my poker strat obsession phase during the boom/post boom period and was experimenting with semi-Proffessional poker with thoughts of going pro. Your insights into how fish lose, the importance of understanding game flow, lol live reads (not Oreos but being aware of pre-loading for example) and engaging in ev neutral gambol or even taking the worst of it from time to time to be a sport increased my results (and my fun). I then spent a full year deriving my living from poker earnings after that.

Poker became less fun and I realized each month that I continued, returning to my profession would become increasingly difficult.

I re-engaged in my profession and doubled down there. I took several years off poker while focusing on my work. Today I enjoy recreational poker in great games during prime time only when I feel like it. I’m over-rolled so I can play how I think the game dictates without thinking about it and I mostly do well in the games. I’m a couple years older than you so I’m now an LOMC (LAG omc).

TLDR;
Limon is right, Poker can be a cool way to make some extra money from a hobby. As a job, it’s a far less interesting grind (and less lucrative for most) than a decent regular job n a chosen career field. I’d suggest younger folks with similar aspirations listen to a few of your interviews on variance, lol donkaments, beatable vs unbeatable games and pulling back the curtain on the dream sold by the poker industrial complex. You’re sharing “the playbook you put together off your own beats” (or brags and variance as it were) IMO.

NOW MY QUESTION?

How does your wife feel about the entirety of your poker/gambling career and were there ever times she wanted you to do something else? Any advice you would share in this area of maintaining serious relationships and a gambling career?

Thanks for the thread. Hopefully it will stay on track.

I am near universally liked and respected by people who matter in the LA gambling scene (not anonymous online troll bitch ass nobody's). I would instantly have partnerships in all sorts of legal, semi legal and "undecriminalized" gambling ventures, I have hundreds and hundreds of phone numbers of gamblers all over LA. Id have access to money and playing/hosting a public game, a private game and a book and "other gambling". Since in this scenario I would own nothing I could be very aggressive and not worry about being pinched. there would be nothing to pinch. I would work tirelessly and retake my position as a gambling apex predator, the old adage "where limon goes money flows" would be a truism once again. It would be a mountain of hard work. What i wouldn't do is sit around and whine "woe is me" like a little broke ass bitch in one of the greatest economies america has ever seen.

One time my friends zack and jeff were going to play a "golf race". the score didn't matter it was just how fast you could finish 18 holes. zack much faster but he is very very disorganized and forgetful on the golf course. I figured he would get out to a huge lead and then run out of golf balls a high % of the time. Unfortunately for me the guy i bet with got to him and reminded him to bring like 50 golf balls so he won the bet easily.

What advice would you give to someone who does well in casino/public cardroom poker but has no experience in private games (not counting the nickel-dime-quarter home games they hosted decades ago)? Assume they have basic social skills and know where the money comes from.

enjoying the thread limon, but it seems like you need to relax a bit more. Not everybody wants to live in LA for many reasons. Not all of them are idiots. Not all of LA is not idiots either.
