Well, then they are doing a pretty piss-poor job of it, standing in the way of corporate America every chance they get.

standing in their way. That's a strange way to describe things like negative tax rates. Oh and lets not forget citizens united which makes it much easier for Mega corps to control elections. Just curious how you think the government stands in the way. Are you one of those people the believe corps should be allowed to do whatever they want regardless of what harm they may cause?

The bigger and more powerful a government the more likely it will cause regulatory capture.

I have an old thread about this topic here. maybe you can find it or maybe someone can post the link.

lol, never choke. Yeah right, haha.

Meant to ask if you were a member of country clubs, which, after thinking about is way more information than you should say online. But it's the best barometer in the golf world, sorta like Hellmuth talks a big talk but isn't a member at Sharon, MPCC, etc... you can always tell how legit golfers/poker players are depending on where they play out of in Vegas. Summit > Southern > TPC for example. Baldwin in that respect is a true boss that doesn't pretend.

When did you go from being a legend in your own mind to an actual legend? I'm at stage 1 trying to get to stage 2. Also why do you look like a cartoon character in real life anytime I see you at Commerce? You're like that cartoon cat from Last Action Hero, tall loud white guy with that hair in a sea of Asians.

If someone offered you a prop-bet freeroll for $100K that you had to run a marathon within a year, could/would you do it? There would have to be some sort of reasonable yet very generous time limit involved just to keep you from walking the whole thing, like 5-6 hours or something.

But on that point, to your second thing about putting $10K and making it into $50K in a year; yeah, forget about that. Unless you are extremely risk tolerant and are fully prepared to see that $10K far more likely to go to $1K rather than $50K, there aren't any investments that are at all likely to produce a 400% profit in a year except for the most speculative nonsense out there. Crypto investment is very close to pure gambling, so if you are extremely risk tolerant you can go for it, but with only $200K "bankroll" than you are not really in that position (that's a decent sum, but far from "f*** you" money.

You pointed out Bitcoin over the past year, but be sure to check the year before that (Nov '21 to Nov '22) when it went something like $65K down to $16K.
Thank you for the response

Are you into stocks? What about Victoria’s Secret? It’s at about $18 a share now. But not too long ago. It was about $75 I believe. And they got rid of their Woke for broke strategy so maybe they can make a sizable come back?

Now let’s talk about a return on investment. How about three times your return on investment in one year surely there are stocks out there that can make that happen. What do you think?

I’m just about to cash in on a CD account that pays about 5 1/2% over 12 months and I will make some decent money off of that.

nice thread limon, 2 questions

1- when did you start considering yourself a legend?
2- do you miss commenting on live streams?

Why do people who have the wealth and other resources to do anything they want like to spend hours and hours getting their butt kicked at poker?

Prob not. Both my knees are surgically reconstructed, it would be hard and painful and 100k wouldn’t change anything about my life.

Normally I would say bet on yourself but in your case I’d go with trying black on roulette.

At least at poker they have a chance! Why do it at baccarat or craps?? It’s called gambling kid, it’s a sickness.

what are your thoughts on nik airball

specifically that the entire hcl ecosystem nods their heads in agreement with him talking about being such a talented pro - like he's literally been on podcasts (nick vertuccis iirc) talking about how to placate the fish at the table and do things that are good for the game all while being wholly unaware the game runs around him

i think this is a very different scenario than "don't talk strat/educate the fish" this is a person who's become a poker public figure because the hcl promotes him as such and he likely views himself as a top pro largely because of that attention he praise he gets from them - at what point, if any, are places like hcl morally culpable in grooming a whale to believe he's a sharp?

I have two genuine, sincere questions for you, in light of your statement here.

1. Are you serious ?

2. I really don't know the answer to #1 above, but, have you ever lived in another place/country than the United States ?

I believe I recall that guy, although it's been 15yrs. Large muscles, tight shirts, longish black hair that would tuck behind his ears? I recall him screaming/being loud at Commerce numerous times playing 10/20NL.
