Never withdraw $$, always convert them to the currency you want to withdraw in first.
Otherwise you lose 2.5% on the exchange rate.

Cool ok - I didn't even know there's an option to withdraw in the same currency that I deposited in. Was getting shafted.

Seems unlikely: If this was happening, they'd probably reply to emails faster.

Delete everything in the Images folder, then right click on it, select "Get Info", and tick "Locked" to disable aurora completely, even after a restart.

I expect Pokerstars to remove the workaround in the near future, so I've moved my cash play elsewhere, and will be off PS completely once my current tournament tickets are used.

When you install Stars it always places Pokerstarsupdater.exe on the desktop, start menu etc but if you go into the Stars program folder you can find Pokerstars.exe that just opens the client without checking for the update.

Haven't played stars in a while and took a look and what kind of ridiculous software is this? The cards look horrible and just about everything. Anyone know how long exactly they made everyone use this new update? I use to always not update stars until it was necessary.


I use windows... is there a way right now to change it back to the old software? Cards looked better, cards dealt was fast etc. Someone said they could revert back to old software with a mac... but i assume most ppl use windows.


I already updated the stars client so its now aurora. I heard some people have the old version but can you revert back if you already updated?

New update today. Now I cant see my player notes in the lobby (used to be able to hover on players name in zoom player list to see notes). Software gets worse with every update...

EDIT: tried to change table themes and client froze up and i had to restart. after restart, now i can see the notes in the lobby again... wtf??

I wish they would put the players country flags at the table like on GG so you don't need to keep hovering round the table to see who is from Brazil.

Trying out carbon theme per pokerstars recommendation that it uses less resources. Seems smoother and laptop not getting as hot but damn this theme is UGLY! Reminds me of the old themes of small sites 15+ years ago!

AND . . . PS still crashes: all windows suddenly just close. Happens at least twice a day.

Mine goes unresponsive. Tables fade white and have to force close the client and restart. Its soooo buggy. Gameplay is different from session to session. One time couldnt edit notes at all. Another time I couldnt see the boxes when I right clicked on a player. Always have to restart client.

All these crashes are related to Aurora taxing the GPUs of your computer.

Like I said before I have an 8-core Macbook with 4GB Radeon video card and it keeps crashing and playing super laggy.

In what world do they live in where they roll out software that a high end machine cant even handle. It's just pure incompetence and stupidity.

It's really frustrating. Got tilted with this aurora issues 3 sessions in a row. I tried carbon - and visually I can accept it and get used to it, but there are still some random annoying bugs, small fonts and blinking background when I fast fold.

Somehow a pretty lazy competition, by not doing anything seriously bad to their software, overtakes Stars in this superimportant look&feel/playability category. Sad.

Forced update to aurora has made Pokerstars unplayable for me. Tried to play 2 tables last week and kept freezing and crashing. CPU usage was far too high. Tried a few more times with the same results. In the end I was just happy to bust my remaining games and give up and close the client. My computer ran absolutely fine after that playing on a mixture of Party poker, Unibet and Grosvenor.

Have since tested the Stars software on numerous occasions and it's still the same. Today I tried to load just a single table of play money and again it froze and I was eventually forced to close the client.

Absolute joke. They had the finest software in the industry and they've gone and ****ed it up. It was likely the last thing that kept players on there. I've withdrew my money and replaced them with GG.

Find it ridiculous f*ing up so hard AGAIN AND AGAIN ( in march-april players from Romania, Bulgaria, Belgium etc couldnt play because of their cheap servers ), now a major update regarding everyone, failing hard, no communication whatsoever from any official, then they struggle understanding why all their players move to other sites with playable softwares and stars have <2k$ in their daily majors for 1st.
Client aquisiton is hard and expensive, losing clients will not return. GG and good job stars chasing everyone away

Imo you can ask support to open your coffins but you shouldn't have any because you hate stars and shouldn't play there. Unless you are bit stupid.
