I can barely play here. Top spec laptop maxed with RAM and top performance graphics card. If I open a spin and go for example, the lag is so bad on all other tables it will either crash or I time out on tables/ go into time bank.

Something else that keeps happening on Mac. Click on the fold button, and it registers as a call sometimes, if have moved the mouse pointer over the call button enroute to the fold button.

This software is buggy beyond belief.

I hate how the pointer is so small. Why not just make it regular like how it appears on rest of computer

A Euro friend said he was able to disable his by unchecking 'show more games button' but I'm not sure if he was just confused. I've tried that in my .com client and it doesn't disable the side bets.

Imagine world, where you play your favourite game, in this case poker and every decion you make has 5 to 10 seconds delay. Well welcome to the Czech republic! It is more or less like playing CS (counter strike) 0.6 back in 2005 with cabel modem with 200-400 ping, I rember those time too. I will be 35 this year and playing online games is something I really enjoyed during all these years. But this open letter is not about me it is about every single Czech poker player that plays at Pokerstars.

We are experiencing maybe yet another online poker boom even during these very serious circumstances with coronavirus around the world which is very sad. Nevertheless the traffic is very high, prizepools are huge, larger and softer fields, you could say that this is poker dream for every player, only thing you need is to hit a big score right? Well not really... These last few weeks I avoid playing at Pokerstars because it is almost unplayable. It is one thing when there is a big promotion annonced for few months for annual tourney, then you expect there will be lots of players and it might lag a bit. But what is happening right now every single day during rush hours it is too much!

You know it reminds me of loosing an arm, hand, sight, hearing or something else you just do not appriciate these things untill you do not have them because it feels natural to use them every day.
For us Czech poker players it has been lately bit similar. Maybe try playing with your left hand and you get the idea.

We were part of the Pokerstars.com/eu familly till 2017 and then the regulations came, poker was legalised but we were lucky enough that after few months Pokerstars.cz came back on the market hurraaayy right? No again not really... We cannot play satellites, tournaments with less than 5% rake, most of the hypers, spin and goes and so on and so forth. However that is another chapter with our legal system and law, which is what it is. Still, we are able to play and most of us enjoys it even after all those years, myself included.

Finally I am getting to the point of this letter which is that we have been given trash or call it as you like. I am talking about the pokerclient - the czech version. How is it possible that in 21st century one has to play with lag when 130 to 250 thousand people are online? It is pretty much the same like it was 5 years ago or at least that is what the articles said about the traffic. Well I do not remember any problems with lag or connection in 2015. One thing I always really liked about the Pokerstars client, was that it run smootly. Well I do not know what went wrong in 2020 but this is not because internet of providers or overload. Pokerstars.cz must have some technical issues that is for sure! I spoke with my poker friends here in Czech republic and everybody is complaing and yet they are playing - giving rake, getting blinded out, having no timebanks, playing with delay, love can be blind or should I say love is blind ?... I have not heard about any problems from people playing abroad, strange hmm ?

If your are streamer, youtuber, grinder, casual player or you just love the game, do us one favor please, share this letter and hopefully we might be able to play once again adequate online poker in the Czech republic.

Can you give a more detailed description of exactly what's going on with the client?

If it's just lag, I know people outside of CZ were having lag issues yesterday.

It is not just lag, you click register you count to 5 then the window appers, then you click register you wait for some time and after another seconds windows pops up but still it takes some time...Even clicking call, fold or allin takes more seconds than usually not speaking about searching players or opening other tables everything is so slow and laggy - no timebanks etc. And this is definately not about yesterday or sundays in general it has been going on more than few weeks.

Would've been nice if you read the forum a little bit before posting, but the problem is not unique to your country, we've been complaining about this in here for 2 weeks now...

Not to mention that the other things he mentioned (CZ regulation's blocking jackpot games, reg'ing MTTs on time, etc.) have absolutely nothing to do with servers not working properly.

Yes I realised that right after I clicked through few pages of that big discussion. So the problem is not unique which is even worse. If they promote the game by streaming and all those streamers playing from I do not know how many countries did not say any single bad word about connection problems.

This open letter purpose is to speak for my fellow players from Czech rep. How we feel about this situation and that we are playing something which is already crippled, I speak about Czech platform and now we can not even properly play what has been already cut from every single side. Maybe one day your governemt will do new laws, with new policy and then you might speak differently. You clearly cannot understand the whole idea of it because it did not happen in your country. And I am glad it did not happend and I hope it will not but please do not judge something that you have not expereinced. As I said the idea of this is far more reaching than lagging. This was the last drop! Someone had to say something, it is not about me, it is about all those people that get prescripted emails by stars support for all those players that never get compensated.

For me it seems at least 50% of the time I try to start a Zoom game the game freezes. Only way to proceed then is to use Task Manager to close Stars, then log back in. The game does come up, but by then I've usually lost my Big Blind.

I've tried four different machines, tried tethering to my mobile even to rule out my Internet connection, same result. I've resorted now to having one machine on "standby" with my credentials so I have a fighting chance to play my first BB in zoom.

But, really, this is not acceptable. This is Amateur Hour. Stars' programmers are f*cking incompetent, and that is putting it politely. This is utterly shambolic, regardless of the circumstances.

I found an old table theme I wanted to use on Stars but it says that this theme requires black@pokerstars.com to be installed. Anyone knows what that means and can help me out. Can I still run the theme or is it too old?

Afaik 3rd party Stars themes have not been a thing for quite a few years now. I would imagine that theme isn't going to work.

Hey, have you noticed A LOT less lag problems the last two days? Usually at peak times i can barely log in, let alone do anything in the client, but last 2 days things have been looking a lot better, even at the most peak traffic things are slow, but not completely unplayable. Any other observations?

I havent played on Stars for a while and curious about this table limit. Is it for all cash game tables (I know Zoom doesnt count) or just per limit...so can I play 4 tables NL50 and 4 tables NL100 or is it really just 4 tables total no matter what limit.

They disabled 16 man hyper sng sats yesterday during peak hours and software ran smoothly.After 2-3 hours they enabled them again and it started to lag a bit because these sats fill in seconds,but peak was over and it was playable.
Also the delay is considerably higher with the Aurora Engine on,even when I have ryzen 3600,rx5700 and 32gb ram.What a step back is the current state of Aurora!

I was playing and then closed my tables and stars and had to restart my laptop. So I was basically sitting out. Then when I logged back into stars and sat back at my tables, all my favorites in the favorites tabs for tournaments are no longer there?


Did anyone else have this happen to them? So i have to add all of those again? It wasn't like i turned off my computer while playing on stars. I just closed my stars program and then turned computer back on. But I didn't close each table one by one etc before i closed stars program.


Also everytime i get disconnected and then reconnect say 30 seconds later, i notice my hands get folded? Why does it not use my entire time bank first before it folds? Anyone here have this issue? I use tableoptimizer and previously this didn't happen before. I mean shouldn't when you get disconnected use your entire time bank every single time no matter what?

Just wanted to share my experience trying to play on Stars the past couple of weeks. Download new client, deposit to play some home games. Waiting for them to jump on so hop in micro zoom pool. Get dealt cards, everything is fine pre flop, post flop I can't click on any buttons or bet slider, the client freezes and I get timed out. On our local poker group chat there are a bunch of guys who can't play at all and yet for some it seems fine.

I'm running 888, Party, Grosvenor and ACR at the same time without any issues. It's literally just Stars that is buggy as all hell and literally unplayable.
