Not everyone who has hit the opt-in button should regarded as a true attemptor - there must have been plenty of people who just showed up, opened the challenge window, saw that it was only necessary to hit that one button to be entered into the shootout, thought that it was risky for them to get stuck in the grind because the promo could end at any moment, and therefore didn't play a single 180-man as they thought it was futile.
A minimum requirement for the shootout like playing at least ten 180-mans would have been more enticing.

Not only that, but the lobby popped up for thosewho had hidden it into the tray. It was a heartbreaking moment that made me start taking deep breaths of desperation and switch to the ICM mode instantly in the remaining games.

It's too bad that Stars' competitors are even worse and aren't making you turn up the sleeves.
Actually, there's no need to work for more hours, just start being less secretive with the customers. I understand that there are commercial secrets, e.g. revealing how much you've spent on this promo would raise questions from stakeholders and you'd need to explain what impact it will have on your future revenues, but do you really think that the competitors are any good at using the data to their advantage?

Tbh, this is exactly what you should have done, though that wouldn't benefit me as my biological clock is tuned towards the play vs Latin Americans. The end time of the promo should have been stated explicitly, of course.
I don't think it would hurt Stars much if there were no stoploss for this promo in terms of the actual money spent (though there might have been a need for a stoploss in terms of the number of winners; actually, it's fairly typical for digital sellers to offer 'a limited number of spots only' in their discount promos). After all, Stars does run Spin & Gos where a $1.2M prizepool can drop at any moment and even several times within a short period.
