A little over 3 years ago, I played a tournament on pokerstars where me and the other chose to split the winnings according to chips. My share landed at $268,000.
Very quickly after that my account was frozen and I couldn't log in, of which an email from Swedish customer support from pokerstars where they are investigating me for money laundering (they were the same crank that the money laundering law came into being) but all the smaller sums that I wanted to withdraw before were none problem $1000-10,000 etc.

I tried to understand from their perspective and gave them the time they needed and answered all the questions and submitted all the documents they requested.

2 weeks later I ask how it is going and that I would like to finish this investigation so I can continue playing and make the withdrawal that I have dreamed of since I started playing poker "professionally"

It took a little over 2 months for them to even respond, then an extremely tired response where they are not quite done but have come a long way and that covid has taken a toll on their staffing...

After each email, it took about 1-2 months to respond. 7 months after suspension, I email them again and ask what is going on.

Fast forward 3 years and now I'm standing here after emailing them at least once a week and while I'm waiting for a response from the investigation I'm writing daily to their live chat saying we should notify the right responsible group to make this a top priority until then get a answer to the emails about something completely random where they neither tell me where my frozen money is nor how they are going with the investigation.


From my own experience, this feels like it just delays

OP seems pretty levelheaded for someone who's been denied $260k of his money for 3 years. Is this the whole story?

Why didn´t you take legal action already? 260k held for 3 years, isn´t that enough? There should be more into that story than what OP wrote here.

No experience with MTTs, never made too far in anything meaningful (MTTSNGs doesn´t count lol). How these final table deals work? Are they always mediated by stars, including payment of the correct negotiated amounts? If yes, was this particular deal made 100% the official way?
