Yeah, you may be right on that. Mine have both been free sports bets so far, and while I don't normally partake in sports betting I'll them use since they're freerolls.

In general, though, you could earn 17 black chests over the course of the month (playing tournaments), which would mean providing ~10k in rake, and you very well still may not get the 3 keys required to even be eligible for the "grand prize" on Xmas. I'm not trying to be an ingrate here; it's just an unusually configured promo that makes the end goal/prize essentially unattainable save for the grindiest of grinders.

i've opened 6 black chests since challenge started and got two keys. low sample size but so far my rewards from the chests have been subpar. is there some sort of payoff later for having done this? should i want keys...?

From my reading of the materials, if you get 3 keys, you get one big chest at the end of the promo -- it has about a 1% chance of being worth $1K, and a 99% chance of being worth somewhere between like $25-100 depending on your level (the amount is determined by level, the 99% is the chance it won't be $1K).

Meanwhile, you're getting two chests instead of one so I believe that's presumably why the regular chests went down in value.

That's pretty much super standard for all PS promos these days. I'm a little surprised this has not been flagged up to one of the regulators so far.

Haven't used the site in a year, and forgot my password. Tried to reset my password, and they said my account is frozen and I have to get in touch with support. Emailed them 5 times over a span of two weeks and never received a response. Wtf is going on here? Why can't I just reset my password automatically like every other website in the world?

FWIW I emailed them about the reload bonus, and then again about opting into the Christmas promo -- they didn't respond to the reload email until a week later when they also responded to the second email. They're just (extremely) understaffed.

I believe there is a clause in the agreement for all sites in NJ that if you don't log on or play a raked hand in so many months in a row that they can claim the $ in your account.

Absurd if true. Regardless, I didn't have any money on there. Still ridiculous not to be able to log in, nor reset my account on my own, nor get a response in ywo weeks.

It's two years without logging in and they send you an email warning before they take the funds.

I think it's wild how fragile some of the games are. 2/5 is often run around one fish, goes 5 handed, people sit out instantly, game breaks.

Seems to be pretty dead north of like .15/.30 with .25/.50 running one or two tables. Couple dudes there seem to join those games just to sit out which is annoying.

Anyone know when the peak time is for action on pokerstarsnj? I’m new to the site and the few times I’ve looked there’s nothing going on...no tables in free or real money...this has been early weekday mornings.

I had this happen today for the first time (NJ). Seems it just took a little longer for the location software to work. Left it alone for another minute or two and it eventually worked.

So at the Silver level, each time I've gotten the $3 box this year (10 in 100 or 10%), it's been distributed as a $3 sports bet. Which is frustrating enough in itself, but to have it expire within a week is ridiculous. It feels like the rewards program is being falsely advertised.

idk if was just me or not but my requirements for my black chests just increased over 50% recently without any change in my normal volume. noticed in the PS.PA thread that chest level requirements were also increased so I guess Stars didn't want NJ players to feel left out.

lol and the tournament leaderboard is still bugged and has been since August of last year. great quality site.

Yup. It does look like the qualifications have increased...by a bit over 10% at my current level.

Edit: I just questioned live support about this and they said it's all personalized. I guess I've been playing more so the chests are tougher to get, but every time I mentioned that requirements have increased they responded about my rewards increasing also, which I don't think is true.

Pokerstars seems to be doing more than Sheldon Adelson to eliminate online poker.

I was on vacationing in Europe for a few weeks and just got back. I've earned 3 black chests since Sunday, and each time I unlock one, the points required to earn another increase incrementally: about 5%. I have a hard time believing they are adjusting my awards to be that % higher each time on average, and my rewards from each chest haven't exceeded 4000 stars coins.

Having spoken to some people who played the last few weeks I was gone, they told me their required points have almost doubled

No, today is the the 10th and it's the first time I've seen it. I've logged in every day of February so far.

What am I looking for? Pirates? Puzzle pieces? It says something about recruiting? Do I have to get other people to sign up?

Considering I just moved up a level, I'm probably only gonna pick up a couple of chests before the end of the month, so it doesn't even seem worth the bother.

Having a promo run two and a half weeks, while claiming it runs 4 is a little sketchy as well. Kind of like they're going to ensure not many people complete it.

So this joke of a site increased my chest requirement by over 30%, so even though I'm playing more than twice as much as normal, I still won't even meet the qualification of the 3 chest minimum for the current Anniversary promo. If I had just played a lot less, I would have qualified. The more I play on this site, the more aggravated I get and it has nothing to do with poker results.

I already ranted to Stars in about this in a live chat and they told me (not for the first time either) that when your chest reward requirements increase, so do your rewards (even though it's the same color chest). I absolutely know this isn't true, but will track and when I can prove them wrong, may have a conversation with the NJGDE about the misleading information concerning their rewards program. The god damn system should be uniform for everyone across every level.

I'm not sure it should be. Think about it, casinos give RFB to their big whales in AC and peanuts to the poker grinders, presumably that's kosher -- why does a poker site have to give the same deal to everybody?

If you're making money at the tables, I'd say just consider any promo money as gravy. If you're not making money at the tables...I don't think that's a matter gaming enforcement can solve for you.

I'm more talking about support constantly lying about your rewards increasing at the same level when requirements increase. This is completely misleading.

Oh yeah, I mean, the support for all of the NJ poker sites has seemed terrible to me in every way when I've had to interact with them, but I don't think gaming enforcement cares that the sites have lousy customer service.
