Next time this happens - check your task manager for memory leaks from hm2.

Its in the same area of options to see connectivity. If you need help on this, ask PS on it. Next time I log on also, I can also see what the steps are if you are interested.
you are talking about the "report" button in the small window that sais "trying to reconnect", right?

Press ctrl alt del - and bring up your task manager - you should see somrthing like this -

As you can see my hm2 is using 323k memory. Check what yours uses - then the next time you experience one of these disconnects - check again and see if that figure is much higher.

I have also experienced a lot of lag lately. Mostly small disconnects that reconnects you in about a minute.

However, some more major ones also. For example, deep in a Sunday some time ago all tables suddenly froze, I could connect anywhere but to Stars for 30 min. Was tilting as **** because the client reconnected partly just to disconnect again. I could see some action at my table, but not my holecards and clicking the "I'm back" button didnt do anything (so I couldnt use backup Internet either - "already logged in")
It should be noted that all connections were 100% but the one to Malta (nr 2 i think, not sure) jumped from 0 and 100 all the time. Could you please make it work even if you loose connection to one node in the list? Going from 15bbs to 5 itm in the million isn't OK.

oh wow, that is quite surprising - I thought PS was the one site where that wouldn't happen whats really strange though is that sometimes even if I wait 5 minutes it won't succesfully reconnect, but if I close pokerstars and re-open it, it basically always works and takes < 30sec to connect... wouldn't mind the occasional small disconnect if they didnt make it so hard to reconnect.

I have the exactly same problem which happens about once a month. Pokerstars client cannot connect to the server while everything else is working perfectly. The problem is neither about you nor the Stars. It's about some hop along the way probably in the UK.

The only way to work around this problem is using a VPN. It then instantly connects.

Did you talk about it with the support? What is their policy regarding using a VPN for those disconnects? Would be awesome if this could solve it, but I don't want my account to be closed obv.

You mention vpn, are you using a vpn? Also, just because you have a super fast and new computer, doesnt mean everything is fine in terms of networking.

Yes, I did. I asked "can I use VPN in such cases once a month only?". They replied "OK you can, as long as your VPN IP is not of those restricted countries, (such as Italy, French, the US etc)..". Go ahead and ask their permission. And then in the case of disconnections launch VPN's little app which should restore your connection just in seconds.

great, thx alot! how long do you wait before you stop the VPN and go back to regular internet in such a case? just one minute is enough I am assuming?

Considering this post by op(KING KONG) - and the fact that hm2 has memory leaks that cause disconnects/timeouts - I think the merge into general PS lagging thread is idiotic.

Oh - scrap that - it just took a very very long time! Working now. But yeah, something went wrong.

thought that too at first but had it even more frequently the last 10 days so with some experimenting I can tell that HM doesnt have much if any influence on it. It is clearly Pokerstars failing to reconnect while all other sites and browser windows etc have perfect internet acces. very annoying

Can't open stars today. Just gets stuck on the connecting bar. Click network status and it says all are 100% except Sydney, Australia which is at 0%. Anyone else having this? How do I fix it?

edit: Oh, server restart! Nevermind.
