I don't think that was the point. Every new alt has a "solid team" and "innovative tech". It's a meaningless thing to say at this point if your goal is to differentiate it from the others.

Zcash up 41% in a 24 hour period. What is going on there?! I'm not complaining of course, just curious if there is some recent good news.

Poly has mad it up to rank 65. Waiting for it to creep into the top 10.

Gemini announced listing of ZEC. Actually kinda surprised it didn't pump harder.

I like POLY also. Believe that this 'crypto bubble' is in large part due to a whole new generation of people actually investing for the first time and getting excited about the process.

When these new investors realise they can invest in real businesses and own real equity then the attraction of 'utility tokens' will fade quickly.

People love to gamble. The high risk, high reward of these markets is what makes it enticing and attractive to people. This won't suddenly have people glamouring to invest in other less volatile areas.

One of the cleverest tricks these markets pulled is taking a whole section of society who rarely if ever gamble in their ordinary lives and getting them to play high often for large sums way outside their comfort zones.

Theta Token flying recently. Fair few people ITT holding it on recent posts I remember reading.

Agree, but soon they will be able to gamble on startups that, you know, actually have the potential for real revenues and profits.

Ironically enough, I just mentioned Theta Token in the Bitcoin thread as a token nobody reccomends you to buy starting out in Cryptocurrency. I randomly selected a token on the 100-200 list on coinmarketcap.

An interesting thing that I read is that POLY may make it easier for smaller companies to raise money without having to go public by issuing tokens that represent part of their company. This could be a pretty big deal.

Update: I read the tea leaves correctly on the open beta. Released to 20,000 customers and counting. Over 200,000 MCO tokens were "locked up" in the first 24 hours (for 6 months to reserve cards.)

However the market reacted with a resounding MEH.

Two takeaways:

1. The speculative prices for crypto are so far out of whack with any valuation based on actual product and usage that news on product development won't move the needle unless it stokes more FOMO.

2. The market views MCO as a debit card company so doesn't really care what they do unless they release the cards. I am basing this on the fact that their market cap is barely above Tenx even thoygh their vision and currently released app is miles ahead.

The card is actually only a small piece of what Monaco is doing. Through the app you can already buy crypto, trade it, send it, convert to other fiat currencies, and will soon be able to get credit to invest based on collateral- just need the card to spend at merchants.

My plan at this point is to hodl most of my stake in anticipation of a more gradual rise in price over next few weeks as the numbers of users and locked up tokens grow.

Crypto credit cards are just stupid IMO. They are only useful for people who profited big after last years massive bull market and wanna start spending.

Otherwise the process makes no sense: send fiat to BTC exchange > buy BTC > send BTC to crypto credit card > convert back to fiat for each transaction.

Crypto is not for spending unless absolutely necessary.

Salt and the new project Hold.co make much more sense, you can borrow off your crypto without selling enabling you to get fast access to cash without giving up potential crypto gains.

I agree in general although that is not the process for MCO as the app itself is a fiat onramp and exchange, like I said above.

Also, like I said above, MCO also plans to allow borrowing with crypto as collateral although that is not yet enabled.
